No one forces us to give to FR but we do because we believe in it— plus the $$ is definitely needed. Same with Trump’s campaign if one believes in it— although he doesn’t need the $$. Nothing to bug out over IMO....

Maybe he sees donors as having more skin in the game, ie, more likely to stick with him than bail out, than supporters who have not invested anything.

Since the day he announced we have been told he doesn't need money he has his own. We were even told the $500 million he was sure to get from Univision would fund his campaign.

But like most everything a liberal will tell you that, too, could not be believed.

I’ll help him!

He is in the fight of his life against the most disgusting media in American history who have joined forces against one candidate.

He may be rich but isn’t rich enough to take every one of their corrupt backers on.

This is what I think is happening:

Trump says to donate to his fund and he will match what we send in...

He wants to show the ‘other ‘ establishment that ‘WE THE PEOPLE’ want him and he doesn't have to go thru the PAC or lobbyists or anyone else to get money...

I bet he donates it all to a charity after he wins

He got what I could afford. I hope it helps him fight these corrupt, do nothing, POS media and politicos who think they own my country.

Obama and Romney both raised over a billion in 2012.

Trump is rich. But would he really spend a billion himself? That’s anywhere from 10 to 25% of his net worth. (4-10 billion).

Well, we’ll see. I would like to take a tour of his apt. though. I doubt 2 bucks will get me any further than the elevator banks of Trump Tower...

Opulence doesn't necessarily interest me, although I have toured Hearst Castle and the Biltmore in NC. I find innovation more interesting.

I toured this house about a decade ago. I found it very interesting.

Trump has had one since the beginning of his campaign if one wanted to donate.

Thank you for informing the low information crowd.

I just went to his site: http://www.donaldjtrump.com/ and signed up...

Under donate, he tells you the laws in donating money and how to do it...

I don't think he would use it for himself, I think he would donate what we donate to him to a charity of some kind...

The only ones who should fund his campaign are the people, not special interest, not corporations, not other billionaires

The maximum amount you can donate on his page is $2700. It’s set up though for much small donations, starting at $10.

LOL, I thought he said he didn’t need anyone’s money?

Let him cash in some of his gold bathroom fixtures.

"Why should Trump be asked to spend all of his money to run for office just because he is a billionaire? "

Because he said he would.

But yeah, I know....Trump and his promises...

I read somewhere that his financial submittal showed liquid assets of about $75 million. That’s not nearly enough to finance a campaign this time around. So in order to completely self-fund, it sounds like he might have to liquidate other assets.

If he had to sell property, while running for president, I suspect he might run into a buyer’s market because he would be perceived as an anxious seller.

I’m sure a significant portion of the Trump empire’s valuation of his net worth comes from the value of the Trump brand. I’ve no doubt his brand has substantial value, but assigning a dollar value to it is difficult and is a guess at best. I suspect this uncertainty explains a lot of the difference between Trump’s and Bloomberg’s widely varying assessments of Trump’s total net worth. Bottom line: While running for president, Trump will have difficulty capitalizing on his brand to finance his campaign.

Honestly, I think Trump really wants your money.
