U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Kentucky, is ramping up his war of words with Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump with a new web ad set to hit two key early primary states.
Committing to his change in strategy against Trump, Paul is launching the first digital ad of his campaign against Trump and his support of Democrats including Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton.
The ad from Paul, titled Telling it like it is, first appeared on CNN on Wednesday.
In the two-minute long video, Pauls team opens the piece with positive statements from Trump on Democrats and Democratic policies like universal healthcare.
Paul highlighted many of the attacks leveled when he spoke with Pure Politics on Monday at a campaign event in Bowling Green.
After the ad highlights Trumps past positions, a question fills the screen: Donald Trump telling it like it is?
The second half of the ad features Paul talking in stump speeches about his vision for the country and his record in Congress.
The ad is slated to run throughout the weekend in Iowa and New Hampshire.

It could be effective but the same kind of ad could be made against Paul himself. Plus, the fact it is only going to be online vs. on the air, and only for a weekend, is not indicative of any real fundraising success if they are not comfortable putting in more resources than this.
Thoughts?
I feel bad for those candidates who attack Donald Trump. They have no idea what will shortly be coming their way.
Rand isn’t going anywhere. What’s he got to lose by attacking Trump.
He sees Trump attack back and gain ground. He thinks he can do it too. Trump will own this pinhead.
He has no hope of getting the nomination....He's toast.
Every time I see a “Paul” bumper sticker, [either Paul] there’s always a “Legalize Pot” and “Aliens Are Real” sticker beside it.
Just sayin’.
Rand is making some of the same mistakes that Rick Perry has been making. Spending most all of his airtime bashing Donald Trump, and issuing judgement on Trumps behaviors. We don’t need you for that. You see where playing Miss Manners has gotten Rick Perry, don’t you? He is LESS THAN 1%. That’s gotta hurt.
My thoughts, besides being light in the loafers for homo marriage, Paul is an amnesty pimp. Other than that, he’s one of the weaker candidates and doesn’t quite measure up to dear old dad. He should bow out early and save us the grief.
Thoughts? Paul is racing Perry and Santorum to be the first guy whose campaign collapses by wasting time and money on this.
Almost no one who supports Trump gives a tiny rats behind about anything “political”. They don’t even speak the right language for an ad like this to be effective.
Might as well put out an ad denouncing Bashir Assad in Sanskrit. It would be as about as effective if the goal was to hurt Trump and waste money.
Drop out already Rand! Your time is up! Who wants to bother with a sore loser.
Yea some day they will be proven to be right
LOL, first giggle I’ve had this evening. You are so right!
But he gots real purty eyes, fer a boah.
;D
But where is his bong?
LOL! There’s a woman who I spot at the Giant in my neighborhood every now and again. Has Paul, Pot stickers and about a dozen Wiccan stickers. A few times I’ve passed her car I couldn’t avoid a snorting laugh that was repaid with a glare that I guess was meant to stop me in my tracks. Her effect was spoiled by her pop-eyed pug aspect. Outright laughter ensued.
This is good, regardless of who is doing it.
Trump is fake from top to bottom, and the low-info conservatives are making fools of themselves buying into his theater.
Trump could release a bestiality video and his support wouldn’t falter.
Oh, yeah.
Those wacky Wiccans.
I’ve known quite a few.
Bless their hearts.
