Damning with faint praise.
You fear success?
I fear for our country if conservatives fall for a blatant self-promoting huckster.
He really is like Smaug the Magnificent, with the media playing the parts of dwarves after the Faux debacle.
They’re scared to death of him now. He should say to CNN,
“I want a foot rub from Christiana Amanpour, during the show.”
OMG, I could not agree with you more. I do not dislike Trump, but my God, we are just coming out of a terrible time following people placing such adulation on a PERSON.
It’s just a little frightening.
Very good, you made me laugh on that one because there is at least a grain of truth in that.
Donald gets to pick the charity since CNN is paying him for charity.
24,000,000 watched trump on Fox. How many would watch CNN without Trump? HA! $10,000,000 to your favorite charity Mr Trump!
It’s not about charity. It’s all about The Donald.
Just a preview of what it would be all about if he were the nominee. And if he were the president.. yeppers, same thing.
I sure could use a house now, technically homeless.
Trump is on top because we already fear for our country. We've got a bunch in Congress who don't give a damn what happens to us, have destroyed our healthcare, is arming a terrorist nation to set up Armageddon, and that's the good news.
To be honest, I don't see what harm he can possibly do at this point. And who knows, maybe he'll do some good.
Yes, Maris.
It’s like watching a constitutional government become a game show. Vote for your American Idol!
Or what if CNN just says,”We will not be a party to blackmail by candidates who wish to participate in our debate forum. While we encourage all Americans to contribute to charitable institutions, CNN will not be party to any action that might call into question the integrity of what is one of our most important duties: helping the American people decide who will be the next president of The United States.”
So, if Trump goes to the debate, he has egg on his face. If he doesn’t go all he’s done is hurt CNN to a small degree and robbed himself of an opportunity to defeat the other candidates and pitch his message.
And I can see Jeb standing there, saying something like: “Well, its too bad Mr Trump can’t be with us tonight. I wanted to tell him in person that my wife and I give to charities for the right reason, not because we’re blackmailed into it. I’m sure every other American here and at home feels the same way.”
Just saying, I think this is a risky gambit. Too many things can go wrong. On the other hand, I never heard Donald say he was going to demand something like this. I just heard him float the idea.
We’ll see.
That's not exactly a ringing endorsement. But I'd put it up there with the best that could be said about The Donald.
How about we go for a tad more?
Right. How worse could it be?
We elect Republicans TWICE in major victories and they ... do nothing.
ObamaCare repeal? Nope.
Amnesty stopped? Nope.
Trump can do no worse than the current crowd.
Remember, people who would watch a Republican debate already think CNN is horribly biased, and Trump is correct, at a minimum without him there the audience is half of what it might be with him there.
A tad more with which candidate?
The only one with money is Jeb Bush. $120 million.
A vote for anyone other than Trump, who can fund his own show, is a vote for Jeb.
So we are stuck giving Trump a shot. If he stops the illegals taking over and deciding the elections for the next 20 years, it’ll be worth it.
The rest of the conservative issues are all DEAD if we allow Dems to stack the deck against us now.
Modified, limited hang out? Tentative trial balloon?
I think he’s just messing with them. He runs rings around these salaried guys.
LOL - maybe Trump will get CNN to build the wall...
We're stuck with a narcissistic megalomaniac?
Now, that would be depressing.
I doubt many people would watch CNN host a GOP debate without Donald Trump.
Especially if he were to hold an simultaneous press conference on the issues.
I hope you’re right. I just cannot imagine him doing something like this at such a pivotal point in a campaign. It could really backfire.
