Ohio Gov. John Kasich is not ready to be Commander in Chief because of his stance on spending cuts for the U.S. military, GOP presidential rival Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) told New Hampshire voters Friday.
John Kasich is a good friend of mine, Graham said, according to Time , before adding, He said he has no problem with sequestration.
Graham told voters that sequestration hurts U.S. national security.
As the enemy increases in its ability, our approach is to disarm, Graham said. If the next president doesnt understand that the cuts are killing us, in terms of defending ourselves, youre not ready to be Commander in Chief. ... This is a cocktail for disaster.
The spending ceilings, in effect through 2021, stem from a 2011 legislative deal that Congress passed and President Obama signed into law. The budget limits affect both Pentagon spending and non-defense domestic programs such as the departments of Homeland Security and Veterans Affairs.
Graham has long opposed sequestration and has expressed a desire to also ease the spending ceilings for domestic programs.
About a week ago, Kasich said on Hugh Hewitts radio program that sequestration doesnt matter to me.
Kasich spokesman Chris Schrimpf, however, rejected Grahams comments and clarified that Kasich supports lifting sequestration for the Pentagon a position GOP presidential rival Jeb Bush also expressed support for this week.
The Governor wants to lift the sequester for military and spend more if necessary, but he still wants to reform the Pentagon, Schrimpf told Time. So the sequester doesnt matter to him in that he still wants to reform the Pentagon, but is against across-the-board cuts.
Says the guy poling at 1% about the other guy poling at 1%.
ROFL Always wanted to know whatever happen to Linda. Haven’t heard anything from her, not that I want to.
I take it Lindsay 1% is in this race only to tell us who can’t win.
Lindsay 1% probably would be better off explaining why he is in this race.
I remember watching WWF, so jobber just got his butt kicked by someone like Macho Man. In the next match a different jobber came down to the ring and threw jobber 1 out (shortly before getting his butt kicked by Brett Hart).
The disrespect jobber 2 showed to jobber 1 resulted in a grudge match between the two. This is what this reminds me of.
Takes one to know one.
Look who’s talking about not being ready, Mr. 1% himself!
I think before Halloween, John McCain will have his daughter Megyn (that name again!) call Lindsay and tell him, it’s not going to work this time. Graham can stop giving speeches in those lumberjack plaid shirts that itch.
We Are The One Percent.
Or the RINO comedy wing, I guess.
Yes....but I suspect that Kasich’s numbers are marginally better than Graham.....that’s just like a damned Democrat - they never give up.
No kidding. This is like two red shirt guys on Star Trek having a tiff.
Over at the Kasich campaign, the candidate asked someone on the staff to find out who this "Lindsey Graham" is. Thanks Red Steel.
Graham is in the bottom of an abandoned well yelling his message to the top
Hey look at that Linda and I agree on something.
Battle of the Tiny’s!
Linda is way below 1%
Goober Lyn-see is just fighting to stay out of the last place ranking. He’s just McLame’s puppy dog let off the leash for awhile. The bark is definitely worse than his bite. Woof
To hell with the both of them.
Thank goodness for Cruz!
