Syrian state TV reportedly broadcasts footage of Russian soldiers and armoured vehicle fighting alongside pro-Assad troops
Russian troops are fighting alongside pro-Assad forces in Syria, state television in Damascus and several reports have claimed.
The video footage claimed to show troops and a Russian armoured vehicle fighting Syrian rebels alongside President Bashar al-Assad's troops in Latakia.
It is reportedly possible to hear Russian being spoken by the troops in the footage.

Assad is fighting the “rebels” who are comprised of two entities - Al Qaeda and Isis.So does this mean that since the Russians are fighting alongside Assad whom Obama wants out that Obama will be sending troops to fight alongside Al Qaeda and Isis? More evidence that Obama’s Middle East policy has devolved into the absurd.
No surprise. If Zero had been President in the ‘60s, he’d have sent $$, supplies and troops to the North Vietnamese.
Assad and Russia are fighting alongside Iran and Hezbollah. No squeaky clean members in this disaster.
What is good it that this might help stop the flow of refugees to Europe/America.

We have much in common including a Muslim enemy.
Bush really ticked me off when he chided the Russians for the Chechnya war against the Muslims, when we should have been asking if the Russians needed any help.
And of course we know where Zero stands.
It’s part of the Russian (i.e., Putin)/Iranian/Assad axis.
I doubt the Syrian ROE were very restrictive. The Russians are merely better trained (hopefully).
Too bad they cannot all lose.
I guess if we won’t bother fighting ISIS, Russia will have to do so. Thank goodness for them.
Never thought I’d see the day when Russia is fighting for the “good” guys against Alqaeda/ISIS and we (the USA) were backing very evil factions..
Their Spetznaz guys are tough hombres.
It is not a lose-lose - Even though all Muslims are bad, the Shia Iranians and the Syrians protect their Christians who have ancient roots in those countries. The Sunnis Muslims Syrian rebels have been a holocaust to Christians and minorities in the middle east.
