On National Security, Trump Strikes Out Again
The Weekly Standard ^ | September 4, 2015 | Stephen F. Hayes

Posted on 09/04/2015 12:25:44 PM PDT by EveningStar

When Donald Trump botched a question Thursday about General Qassem Suleimani, head of Iran’s Quds Force, it wasn’t the first time. He did the same thing last month during the Fox News debate, but his answer was largely overlooked in the post-debate hysteria over Trump’s answers to questions on a third party candidacy and his treatment of women.

Bret Baier asked Trump about Suleimani and offered the candidate a helpful tutorial in the introduction.

Stephen Hayes is a permacritic of Donald Trump. Trump could cure cancer and Hayes would criticize it.

Quds and Kurds over the phone sound the same.

I will be watching to see how many of the Terrorists either die or are “retired” in the next 16 months, Trump is right it doesn’t seem to matter since he wants them all dead anyway.

HH in a recent program was anti Trump, he should recuse himself as a debate moderator. I don’t like biased moderators in a position to “Me Gyn Crowley” the debate and then all we talk about is the F-ing slimy questions.

How come they don’t ask Jebba the Hut why his wife is here 27 years and doesn’t speak English at home?

Here we go again with Hugh Blewitt.

This guy should run a political game show. Name that Muslim!

These people are truly desperate.

Knowing the names of Iranian generals is far from necessary. Hopefully most of them wont be around for very long.

The neocons - of which I include Hayes and Hewitt, are trying to hang on to control...and losing.

he seriously needs to military and international security advisers .
many exist . he just needs to pull his head out of his Manhattan world and acquire and absorb the information .

This is an example of why I believe the USA needs a 2 tier system of governance ; 1 domestic civilian & economic and 2 military & foreign affairs .

America needs a Department of War that is NOT subject to the civilian side of things , nor governed by lawyers and ROE’s

Civilians NEVER make good military leaders , Never have , never will

If they want a president that knows all these names, they should be begging Carter to run again.

The Weekly Standard is the flagship neoconservative publication. They were fanatical supporters of the Iraq War, open borders immigration policies and big government... what they called “national greatness conservatism.”

The anti-Trump pieces have been running nonstop all day. I haven’t watched any news programs, but, I imagine it’s more of the same. They truly are desperate and I’ll bet the RNC put HH up to this and Fiorina heard the questions while Trump was being interviewed which gave her time to Google the answers. From what I heard, she also stumbled on the question, but asked for clarification or something - possibly allowing someone on her staff to quickly get the right answers. Whichever way it went down, I suspect the RNC is behind this just one day after he signed that pledge.

The Fiorina interview was too pat. Suspicious as though Hugh had her on standby.

A bad day for Trunp is when he goes up only 1 point instead of 2 in the polls. A ggod day for the others is when they actuall get a sound bite on the news that week and they stay flat or only lose a point in the polls.

Civilians NEVER make good military leaders

And why great leaders obtain great military minds and top security staff who know the specifics regarding all foreign security affairs and for all other issues.

Inform Hewitt that brand new presidents have many briefing on current national security issues to get them up to speed. In fact these briefing go on throughout the duration of a president.
