You are correct. I was thinking about the Polar Sea whose engines failed leaving the Polar Star as the only operating Heavy ice breaker.

Walk exactly south one mile, walk exactly east one mile, walk exactly north one mile and end up where you started. What color is the bear?

One of three US icebreakers still in service - will go looking for the Russian flag planted on the pole by one of Russia’s 44 icebreakers (6 being nuke powered). Nothing so adventurous as looking for killer viruses - we lead from behind now - let the Russians find it first.

You live in a house, all four walls face south. A bear walks past. What color is the bear?

An added plus for a Coastie assigned to the
Mackinaw is that you get to see beautiful downtown
Cheboygan...
But no polar bears. ;-)

it was the magnetic north pole where the ice is thin

I worked for a coal company based in Sheboygan for several years.
Good people. They owned dock around the Great Lakes.

“If the ship was exactly at 90° north, a person on the ice could walk around the ship and circumnavigate the globe at the same time!”
As well as go back or forward in time depending on which direction they were walking!
