I know a Rhodesian farmer whose land was seized and he fled to the USA withhis family.
I have asked him several times if he would ever go back to his generational homeland. The answer is continually, “Hell, no.”
“If I tell you, will you kill me?”
“Not yet.”
Many of them left (to Australia, Britain, etc.); some also went to Mozambique where the black government offered them free land if they would employ blacks (like many companies in the US urban welfare reservations do in exchange for tax breaks). Mozambique had allegedly put out feelers to Portugal to come back to administer the zoo, but Portugal declined; now Mozambique found another source of talent.
Most of them lost everything (which is why they were reluctant to leave); the standard of living they enjoyed there would be difficult to replicate in a Western democracy.
Not only would I not help them out, I would have burned it down and salted the earth before I left the country. Let them figure out how to make it grow, since apparently they believe production happens by magic and wishing.
C’mon, they “wuz building civilizations” while white racists “wuz still in caves” ... surely they can grow their own food, build their own cars, and airplanes and rockets and computers, and continents and nations ... their lives matter way way way more than whitey’s!!!!
The worst part was the blatant dishonesty on the part of the Mugabe “mobile protest” (akin to sharpton’s “national action network”); alleged “war veterans” were attacking farmers, but the war ended in 1980 (when many hadn’t even been born yet).
Colonialism was often brutal and unjustified from a moral standpoint, but what followed was so much worse.
A co-worker from Trinidad described racial tensions there caused by Indians taking over the economy and government; East Africa (Kenya & Uganda) headed that off by sending them packing when the British left. I believe Fiji has similar tensions; the natives resent the economic domination of the Indians imported by Britain years ago. Here in NJ we’ll be in the same boat in another decade or so...
ESAD would be my reply. I knew when they killed the farmers and stole the land those dumb shits would F it all up, they don't know anything about production farming. They may as well be attempting organic chemistry, they'd enjoy the same zero success.
I’ve seen footage of Muhammad Ali flying to the “Rumble in the Jungle” in Zaire; he was so giddy to be on an airplane owned by an African airline with black pilots. He’s lucky he’s brain-dead now; he’d weep if he saw what became of independent black Zaire...
My reply would be identical to yours.
Let them stew in their own broth.
Who would agree?
I'd tell 'em, "Get screwed. You stole it, you make it work - I'm (forcibly) retired."
Ever since my friends lost their family farm in Zimbabwe they have been living next door in Zambia. They fly their little Cessna over their old farm now and then, and for years it's been sitting idle... buildings falling down, no crops... just a total waste.
Put down 15lbs of Atrazine 80W per acre and watch as nothing grows for a decade.
“Sure, I’ll help you farm my land that was taken from me while my friends and neighbors were butchered simply for the color of their skin... First, you take 10,000 pounds of rock salt, and spread it evenly over every single acre. Then drop about 1000 pounds of cow manure into every well on the plot. Next plant these special growth disks that just look a lot like land mines...”
F ‘em. Let them learn how to farm themselves or starve.
Chickens coming home to roost.
Yassur!
Thanks, I doubt I’d take the offer to go back.
Many have nowhere else to go, it's their home and they haven't the assets to emigrate. Not every white is/was a rich farmer.
Zambia and Mozambique have started leasing land to white farmers as they need their expertise.
They could just say they're Syrian.
Now there’s an idea :)
