Looks like a long bow to cut and lift while providing great hull speed. Like a limo - comfortable ride.
I got a tour about a year before the explosion. Got to go inside the # 2 turret.
Back under the porch!
And the Presidential Library in Simi Valley is a non-profit tourist attraction not appropriate for the campaigning to be done on the stage tomorrow.
That is one beautiful vessel.
I remember watching “Victory at Sea” when I was a kid in the 50s and 60s.
It’s sad to look back and think that virtually every component in these big ships-from the radios to the props to the armor plate to the guns and ammo, everything was made in America. X 1000s of ships.
What do we make now? Pillows? Viagra? EBT cards? Sad.
Maybe Trump can get us out of this madness.
Mostly lefties in San Pedro when the Iowa is docked. Ya know heavy traffic makes negotiating those bike lanes tough.
“This battleship is part of American history and should not allow a man who has injured and insulted a significant portion of the Los Angeles community, wrote Gabriela Lopez of San Pedro, who started the petition on Change.org. We are for freedom of speech, however...”
Says it all. Some dope that isn’t for freedom of speech and will start a retarded online petition to make that clear.
It will be interesting to see how the local news plays it.
“”We are not taking sides ...,’ Williams said.”
Maybe I’m missing something, but who is “Williams”? I see he/she was quoted but who is it? The photographer? Anyone important?

Would they protest if Hillary was giving a speach at the ship? I think Not? All those signitures—how many are legals? How many have criminal records?
is not an appropriate use of the battleship —
Battleship = dog whistle for Fiorina
Plus the targeting computer appears to has been analog with a zillion inputs.
Injured?
No, it wasn’t. The Navy never found any evidence to support that theory. More likely it was operational error in the firing of the guns.
Bump to the top
Surf’s up!
Is this the live thread?
FYI, the Montana class ships were to be next - 4 turrets of 3 16” guns, instead of 3, plus heavier armor. The ideas was scrapped to have the necessary metal for aircraft carriers instead.
Oh, would I have liked to have seen the USS Montana!
