CINCINNATI – A commercial released Tuesday that poked fun at the recent same-sex marriage fight in Rowan County, Kentucky using Tide products will not air on television.

The commercial, which was not backed by home goods giant Procter & Gamble, was a “spec spot,” said director Mark Nickelsburg...

Dunno how much chatter there's been around here about this one, but the left was in absolute ecstasy earlier today. HuffPo, Time, etc. were all praising Tide for being "courageous", etc. I imagine their enthusiasm will be curbed somewhat when they find out it's not a real ad per se.

Still, I think it's worth noting the tone of the ad and the reaction by the left. It's a very snarky and ridiculing piece that condescends and tars, to the howling approval of a lot of lefty outlets.

Why bother with pro-gay advertising? All the programming (including sports programming) is all-gay, all-the-time as it is.

Glad this ad is not happening. I am so sick of random products, of all things, inflicting their social points of view on the rest of us. We get it, Cheerios, that you're pro-interracial marriage. We get it, Wells Fargo (or whomever it is ), that you're pro-gay adoption. What does this tell me about the quality of your product or service? Absolutely nothing. Save your point of view for the editorial page.

Davis should file a complaint against the judge who imprisoned her for failing to obey his order to violate law.

I’m pretty sure Christianity being ridiculed, mocked and hated was all predicted in the Bible.

“I’m pretty sure Christianity being ridiculed, mocked and hated was all predicted in the Bible.”

(Jude 1:14) And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,

(Jude 1:15) To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

(Jude 1:16) These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage.

(Jude 1:17) But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;

(Jude 1:18) How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.

(Jude 1:19) These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.

(Jude 1:20) But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

(Jude 1:21) Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

How to be an elite liberal:

1. Hate lower and middle-class white people. Make fun of them for being religious and liking American sports.

2. Making snarky third-grade level jokes about lower and middle-class white people, then praise yourself for your sophistication.

3. Also hate black people, who are also religious and like American sports. But do it quietly, because you need their votes. Therefore, praise random black celebrities and confess your racism and all that crap while having few if any actual black friends.

4. Never serve in the military. Consider it beneath you or anyone in your family.

5. Hold yourself to no level of morality and attack anyone who suggests you should.

6. Wonder why most of America hates you.

The little girl with the snoozing daddy is adorable!! But the social message is shamelessly transparent. It just sticks in my craw (whatever that is!).

I guess that particular “social issue” doesn’t bother me. At least it’s not a “gay couple.” There are as few commercials that hint at a possible homosexual relationship. Slowly, the media is conditioning us to accept such behavior as normal.

They won’t succeed with me.

Oh, that issue doesn’t bother me either. I live in an Army town (always have), have traveled a decent amount and have seen just about every ethnic pairing imaginable. Nothing new or shocking there. It’s just the point of it to me.

I’m with you, though: the media is really pushing, but they will not change my views.
