CNN, the Morning After
CNN TV ^ | September 17, 2015 | Self

While I do not have any video to link to, watching CNN this morning leaves me thinking the are hardcore shilling for GOPe. They have taken one candidate after the other in an attempt to show they trumped Trump.

It is not working. When you see the 60+ win appraisals elsewhere in all the polls, evening if not "scientific", CNN's this spin to make Trump the loser is desperation and impossible. Actually, it is almost humorous.

Anyone watching? Your thoughts?

Good try, CNN.

Drudge (admittedly right-biased) and the Time online polls have the Trumpster in the 60% range.

The unholy alliance between Big Media and Big Government. You are surprised?

The “outsider” surge is a threat to all of them. If Trump continues, his coat-tails will be huge with respect to the 435 Congress and 34 Senate seats that will also be on the same ballot. I would expect Trumps direction to shift dramatically to those seats to have people give him a legislature he can work with.

Early on - Trump to Rand on his looks ... “plenty of subject matter”. BOOM - Trump won at that point, after which nothing else really mattered as CNN had signaled their petty agenda to get Trump.

I think it’s been fair basically.

There’s a tendency to (not) give the event to Donald, but they were far more balanced in how they treated him than Fox was.

By far.

I have still not watched Fox since that debate. I might never return.

Seems unlikely they will have Trump on as they bring on the others to try and trash Trump.

viewed from the air after the battle, there appears to be a well defended position with barbed wire and sand bags. it is a mess. all that defensive stuff is scattered in disarray and there are bodies of the dead on the perimeter. it is not really a bloody mess, but there is evidence of severe wounds and death and carnage.

What is important is within the emplacement. The defender can be seen with some bandages over the minor wounds, wiping the blood from his sabre and oiling his assault gun making ready for the next assault.

Drudge may be right-biased, but this was a debate for the Republican primary, after all.

His results the same as at time.com and newsmax.

“...CNN had signaled their petty agenda to get Trump.”

Note the very first tone-setting question to the first candidate — candidates who are almost non-existent in the polls exalted as experts on Trump’s inner capabilities — a double smear of Trump, and then most of the questions they asked Trump were of the smearing variety.

>> Anyone watching?

HAIL no.

>> Your thoughts?

After a horrible beginning, and except for continually cutting off Ted Cruz, CNN did a passible job of moderating a difficult-to-moderate debate. Better than Faux News, in my humble opinion.

But that hand-picked GOPe audience was by far the WORST aspect of CNN’s production.

Yes, CNN did seem to play fair and got everyone engaged for 3 hours. Bet the moderators will not be even remotely close the 30% hogging of time that Fox moderators did. I think this was a great debate. CNN risks ruining it by their anti-Trump follow-up trying.

CNN is the purchased paid-for media outlet of the Rainbow Hut.

They are only the GOPe support (for now) to make sure ¡YEB! is the GOPe nominee against the chosen successor to The Won.

That's all there is or was to it.

I thought that was probably Trump’s worst moment. Rand was looking better than Trump last night, and is too far behind in the pols to be worth the smack talk. Bad timing that it came after Tapper opened the debate by questioning Trump’s presidential temperament. (Also, it’s not Rand’s fault he was included.)

But Trump grew stronger as the evening went on and ended up running away with it.

Attempted smearing. I don’t think anything stuck, do you?

Tapper is the class of the national media IMO, and he was masterful without ever making himself the focus last night.

The Fox debate was embarrassing.

Yep—the same approach Fox took.

Something Trump did well through the evening is to find agreement and/or appear jocular with a number of his opponents.

We know he’s good with Cruz, but Carson and Christie were in different ways there for him last night, and he was quick and gracious in acknowledging Carson and Bush’s humor hits. The energy jokes with Bush, and Trump’s proposed SS name of “humble” were all good touches.

He’s got to be careful not to slouch in that environment the way he successfully does, as a form of intimacy, in giving his standalone speeches.

Mourning Joe was criticizing CNN for their continuous split screen coverage with Trump in most shots. I have to agree.

Seems like the plan was Candidate X, Donald Trump said this about you, how do you respond. Go to split screen with Candidate X and Trump.

Trump occupied a high position early with clear views over the entire battlefield. Anyone that tries to take that hill is seen long before they get close and takes on major loses before their main assault can even begin. They are always forced to withdraw, gaining nothing.
