I am not sure that I understand the alternative this doctor is suggesting, but my gut feeling is that that is option that would work for me.
Medicare is my sole medical insurance (pardon the expression) but after almost a trillion$ were stolen from that program, I'm not sure it remains viable for me to afford the increasing co-pays.

The doctor is bailing out of newly created insurance/government controlled medical industry. Sounds like he will take cash or whatever works for him. Thousands of other doctors have and will bail out of the corrupt system all together.

Google ‘concierge medicine’. I suspect that is the model the doctor is planning to use.
