Couples who sued Kim Davis seek order halting use of altered marriage licenses

Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis has interfered with the issuance of marriage forms by her office, raising a concern about the validity of licenses issued since Sept. 14, attorneys for couples who sued Davis argued Monday.

The attorneys filed a motion asking U.S. District Judge David L. Bunning to order deputy clerks to use the state's standard form for marriage licenses.

So they are once again going to FEDERAL court to adjudicate the validity of a state function under state law - this time whether or not the marriage licenses issued would be valid under state law. Her incompetent attorneys will probably fail to raise this argument again that the petitioners are in the wrong venue.

Davis should have just bought a rubber stamp that says "Approved by order of Judge Bunning" and put it where the clerks signature would have gone and let that be that without altering the form.

...and Judge Bunning will probably not recognize the fact this is outside of his jurisdiction yet again and fail to dismiss it as being in the wrong venue, which he should be able to recognize and do so on his own motion even without the defense counsel raising it as an argument.

The logic of the Extreme Court’s decision validates what she was doing in the first place.

I’m guessing her office was targeted in the first place and this is just being extra vindictive.

That’s been raised as a possibility before, because there are numerous other clerks offices in close proximity where they could have gotten the licenses. The claims people “couldn’t get their licenses for months” due to Kim Davis is a false argument.

Kim needs to stop. She has made her point, and had my support while incarcerated. Now Kim seems to be purposely violating her own condition. I could be way off
but i think she’s starting to enjoy the international attention. In this instance, more defiance is not necessarily more productive than moving on.

She has not violated any law
It is not up to courts to write law

She is doing exactly what she should be doing and that is to refuse to sign those things

If they want them signed they need to pass a law in Kentucky or in congress

It is not enough that they have their license. They want Kim Davis to bow to their will.

The point is they have been issued their license, and if I remember correctly, they got married. They are no longer a party to this issue because their “harm” has been resolved. They want Kim to sign her name to the licenses in order to make her capitulate to them.

The Fed court has no more authority, (if it ever had any), over this since the legality of the licenses is a matter purely for the state court.

Precisely. You could say they won't be happy until Kim Davis sacrifices her conscience and personally signs the "marriage" certificates herself. But that is superficial. Beneath the surface, Satan won't be happy until Kim Davis has compromised her faith and obedience to God in the matter. And, that is why they won't be happy even if Kim did sign their certificates -- after all, Satan's objective has never been for their happiness.

She didn't agree to nothing. It was the judge's condition, not hers. She will not issue a gay marriage license with her signature on it. The problem is that under Kentucky law, if she personally doesn't sign it, it is not valid.

In this instance, more defiance is not necessarily more productive than moving on.

"Move on". The battle cry of the appeasers, surrender monkeys and moral cowards.

Kim needs to stop.

No she shouldn't.

She doesn't want her name on gay marriage licenses. The state of KY and/or the judge could fix it in any number of ways so that her name is not associated with this travesty, but they won't do it... because the faggots don't want to simply be married, they want to FORCE their sickness on everyone else. What they want is to forced compliance - whether it's baking a cake or signing off on their pretend poop-sex marriage.

Why do you think they're acting out in some small town in Bumfuct KY; with activism and billboards and protests and TV cameras etc.? It's not like the place is a convenient ride from the bathhouse.

She doesn't want to have her name associated with marrying faggots, and no matter what anyone says on Faux Snooze, in the courts or anywhere else - she CLEARLY has that constitutional right.

These two women are evil. I hope they find God in their spiritual lives and tolerance in their personal lives before they do even more harm.

This is exactly right, and it makes me wonder why they didn't bother finding another set of plaintiffs to file a new lawsuit.

I'm speculating here, but I think this judge has completely lost interest in this case.

I am totally cynical of these people. I agree, I think it was a deliberate attack.

Judge Bunning exposed his own limitations -- and the flaws of this entire case -- when he said (while Kim Davis was in jail) that he had no idea if the marriage licenses that were being issued while Davis was in jail were valid under Kentucky law.

I have suspected all along that Bunning had some quiet conversations with other legal minds while all this was going on, and he realized that it was a mistake to ever allow this case into his courtroom in the first place.
