The Post-Boehner Congress and Washington’s Sense of Dread
NY Slimes ^ | 9/26/2015 | JONATHAN WEISMAN and MICHAEL D. SHEAR

At the White House, a stunned President Obama expressed hope for bipartisan progress as turmoil among Republicans ended Representative John A. Boehner’s speakership.

On Capitol Hill, the conservatives who had again felled one of their leaders rallied to name the terms for the next person to wield the speaker’s gavel.

And on Wall Street, fear set in at the prospect of another showdown over the government’s ability to pay its debt, support its export businesses and simply keep its doors open.

Before the news of Mr. Boehner’s decision had even sunk in, conservative knives were out for the heir apparent, Kevin McCarthy of California, the House majority leader.

Mark Levin, the conservative talk show host, called Mr. McCarthy “Eric Cantor with 10 less I.Q. points,” a reference to the last House majority leader, who lost his seat to a Tea Party insurgent in 2014.

No, NYT. The sense of dread will come following CW-II, when we start building the guillotines. Don’t worry though, you will mosr certainly be there for the opening (heh) ceremony.

Resigning the Speakership is one thing, resigning from Congress entirely is another. Has Boehner fallen so badly in his own home district to prompt this, or is something else at play? It concerns me, what is in store, if Boehner has nothing to lose, and now he doesn’t.

A whole lot of sound & fury going on, signifying nothing. By hook or by crook they'll install another bum on par with the Crying Cheeto, back to business as usual. They don't fear us enough to do otherwise.

The sense of dread started when we took out our Congressman in a primary, the weasel Eric Cantor, even though he was Majority Leader.

There should have been many more weasels Cantorized last cycle.

My thoughts exactly. Oct 31 is still plenty of time to inflict maximum damage.

I am put in mind of a willful horse, being goaded too far by a cruel rider, slips the bit in its mouth backwards where it may be seized by the large molars in the back of the horse’s mouth, and the bit is therefore immobilized. This is called “taking the bit in the teeth”, something most horsemen have acquaintance with. Normally, hauling back on the bridle reins is enough to control the horse, as the mouth is very sensitive, but once the horse has the bit firmly clamped, this means of controlling the horse is lost to the rider, who may not have any other means of persuading the horse to obey.

In for one hell of a ride. The horse will eventually stop. Whether the rider is still aboard or not is a matter for some speculation.

ICYMI: Breitbart Exclusive: Governor Palin on Boehner’s Resignation

Posted on September 26 2015 - 9:36 AM - Posted by:

Over at Breitbart, Governor Palin remarks on the announcement of Speaker John Boehner’s decision to resign.

From the exclusive:

Palin noted, “The silver lining for the political establishment is that with all the time John Boehner has in the next year before he can legally become a lobbyist for special interests he represented as Speaker, he can work on his golf handicap.”

She also said:

Bold, independent Congressmen in Washington prove they’re to be reckoned with now, and they deserve voters’ thanks for doing what we sent them to do – shake up the status quo and get the country back on track. These Congressmen are in it for the right reason, and they ought to celebrate another victory for the grassroots! Thank them!

Governor Palin has been at the forefront of holding members of Congress accountable for quite some time now.  As you may recall, SarahPAC sent a message earlier this year when funding the "Bold, independent Congressman" who opposed Speaker Boehner previously.

You can read the entire Breitbart piece here.

Uber RINO McCarthy is not acceptable as Speaker.

If we get the Boehner Mini Me, nothing will change.

The GOP needs a fresh leadership team in the House and we also need to send the GOP Senate leadership packing as well.

Why would you play them against each other? They appear to be “in league”.

They are competitors.. (try to pay attention)..
Otherwise one would drop out..

Cruz has working to do most of that Trump “SAYS” instead of just talking about it.. for AGES..

You realize... the “WALL” has been (funded) and PASSED TWICE but Congress misappropriated the FUNDS.. TWICE NOW..

WHO DID THAT?..

I was aboard a seventeen hands tall horse that decided to go for broke on a long sandy road leading to a beach. I could have stopped a freight train as easily as that horse. Couldn’t believe it when the massive sand dunes finally loomed up before us—we were nearly at the beach, I couldn’t see what was beyond the dunes, and he was still going like a bat out of hell.

I started screaming at the top of my lungs, “Runaway horse—GET OUT OF THE WAY!”

We topped the dunes, people scattered like chickens before a wolf, and on we went.

The tide was out and we gallopped along a vast jetty—straight toward the ocean. I figured we’d end up in the waves, but at the last minute the horse tried to climb the huge granite rocks of the jetty itself. That slowed him enough that I was able to regain control.

Worst ride of my life.

I do just hope that by the time the horse, bit in teeth, stops of it's own will, we're not all decimated by the "hell of a ride" that comes before...

Love your tagline, LOL!
