I'm still on Cruz control, and sent him my September donation yesterday, BUT, I'm also liking the Donald for the way he is twisting the tail of the tiger.
Absolutely agree on “fairness.” As a professional historian, I emphasize to students that the current system was sold to the public largely via fraud, although not on the basis of “fairness” but really on notions that almost no one would pay and that it would be easy to file. The “fairness” came during FDR.
What it does do is save a fortune in money otherwise spent to prepare ridiculous tax forms and even more in federal dollars spent to examine those petty little tax forms.
