Sophie Cruz's encounter with the pope during a parade in Washington this week looked to be one of those spontaneous, once-in-a-lifetime-moments Francis has become known for.
But for 5-year-old Sophie, the chance to wrap her arm around the pope's neck as he offered a hug, kiss and a blessing unfolded as perfectly as it was scripted by members of a coalition of Los Angeles-based immigration rights groups. For nearly a year the group had been preparing the young girl from suburban Los Angeles to make a dash for the popemobile to deliver a message about the plight of immigrant parents living in the country illegally.
They had even pulled off a similar public-relations coup a year ago in Rome with a 10-year-old girl meeting the pope.
"We planned to do this from the moment we learned he was coming to the States," Juan Jose Gutierrez of the Full Rights for Immigrants Coalition told The Associated Press. "We have been working for a while now trying to sensitize the American public that dealing with immigration is not just dealing with the people who came in without proper documents but that we also have ... countless children whose parents are undocumented."

Using children to accomplish your goals is so despicable.
The left is all about the lie.
Undocumented parents have committed a crime against this country and also their kids. They have no right to stay in the country and they have created a difficult situation for their offspring by cheating. They need to go home and the US needs to end birthright citizenship to discourage illegal immigration.
I have four nieces and nephews who live in Mexico with my brother and his Mexican wife. It is no punishment to send illegal parents back to Mexico and their kids can go with them.

How about the son and daughter of the American who is out of work thanks to this girl’s parents stealing their job?
Millions of people in that boat. Out of work and depressed wages because businesses would rather hire off the books and avoid all the taxes and insurance required to hire people legally.

I recall some Freepers blamed the Pope for speaking to the girl as though he knew this was going to happen and did it on purpose to promote illegals coming to this country. That, of course, is ridiculous. The Pope spoke to a number of children on the route he was taking during those days.
They should have knocked her to the ground. Just like they should have shot, instantly, the man who threw the shoe at Bush. I would think there would be a kill zone around these people. 10 feet out approaching beyond barrier with something in hand? Toast!
