VATICAN CITY -- The Vatican on Friday distanced Pope Francis from Kim Davis, the focal point in the gay marriage debate in the U.S., saying she was one of dozens of people the pope greeted in the U.S. and that their encounter "should not be considered a form of support of her position."
After days of confusion, the Vatican issued a statement Friday clarifying the circumstances of Francis' Sept. 24 encounter with Davis, a Kentuky county clerk who went to jail for refusing to issue same-sex marriage licenses.
In a statement, the Vatican spokesman, the Rev. Federico Lombardi, said Francis met with "several dozen" people at the Vatican's embassy in Washington just before leaving for New York.

This pope is a despicable little man - how often do you see him preaching conversion and Jesus Christ to muslims? Shouldn't he be trying to save them from Hell?
So the Pope’s encounter with the 5 year old illegal alien girl should not be considered a form of support for open borders.
The pro-abortion, pro-sodomy Jesuits Thomas Reese and James Martin are out there trashing Kim Davis.
Both men are too smart to come right out and say, “Abortion is not a sin; sodomy is not a sin.” That would be something the CDF could sink their teeth into.
But they rarely open their mouths nowadays without gushing over some pro-abortion, pro-sodomy Democrat, or trashing a pro-life, anti-sodomy Catholic.
James Martin has a five-part series of video on YouTube. It works like this: The Church teaches that it’s not sinful to be “gay”—i.e., to have same-sex attractions. This statement is followed by a dozen same-sex COUPLES talking about how wonderful it is to be in a “welcoming” parish. It is obvious all these people are having sex—but nobody in the video actually SAYS SO.
So nobody can actually convict Martin of contradicting the Church’s teaching.
