The lede to this column is a deep, guttural groan that originates in the throat and expands into the lungs before collapsing in the pit of the stomach. How do you spell hmmmgrrrungh?
What else is there to say about House Republicans' inability to get something right? And I say this with compassion, I really do. Because seriously? It's over. Done. Kaput.
With Kevin McCarthy's recent response to the simplest question about GOP accomplishments in Congress, from the friendliest interviewer, Sean Hannity, a GOPer could hope for, the future may as well be called Democrat.
Here's what McCarthy offered if you happened to be away exploring conspiracies about liquid water on Mars: "Everybody thought Hillary Clinton was unbeatable, right?" he said. "But we put together a Benghazi special committee, a select committee. What are her numbers today? Her numbers are dropping. Why? Because she's untrustable."
The consequences of McCarthy's sleight of tongue can't be overstated. It wasn't just a Washington gaffe, when someone accidentally tells the truth. It was a self-inflicted, potentially fatal wound, not just to McCarthy but to Republicans more broadly, including those running for president.

I am no fan of Kathleen Parker, but she hit the nail square on the head here. However, I think McCarthy did cement several score Democrat votes.
We forget, this is not about the national interest, it is about furthering their political ambitions.
Besides, McCarthy like most Republican had rather have Hillary President than a Tea Partyer Speaker. Or President.

He could be the wolf in sheep’s clothing who’s been waiting for this moment to smear non-Progressives and push the election to Democrats, for whatever reason his psyche might harbor.

The thought did occur to me, to give Hillary cover, but I assume Levin is more familiar with him. He certainly is a RINO, and if he gets in, the whole thing (Boehner’s resignation) is part of a larger scam on the part of the Republicans.
Before McCarthy, Hillary kept saying she "looks forward"
to testifying....... her cunning way of duping the unsuspecting.

The Clintons never do anything unless it involves money. Bill was
recently rushed to the mic b/c Hillary’s big-buck donors are holding-out.
LA TIMES REPORTS Her Super-PAC—”Priorities USA”— had a lackluster first quarter, raising just $15 million (a big chunk of it coming from Hollywierdos).
BILL WAS COACHED BY HILLARY'S FUND-RAISERS TO SAY: “She is being attacked by 16 Republican campaigns and super PACs run by the Koch brothers, Karl Rove, et cetera. She needs resources to respond and put out a positive message. The super PAC is critically important at this stage of the campaign.”
Hillary weeped on the shoulder of told MSNBC-TV’s resident adult illiterate---Al "Lollipop Head" Sharpton---that the Benghazi hearing "was always meant to be a partisan political exercise.”
Now McCarthy's bonehead comment has made Hillary's "victimhood" complete.

Hillary's rounding the first turn with a broken leg, a fat ass and a gut full of booze. There's a lot of race left.
OK. For a few minutes, you are Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
You see an opportunity to make some big money by overthrowing the government of Libya.
That is illegal, but you want the money anyway. Or your boss, The Grifter, wants that Libyan wealth.
This is a dangerous play. You could get caught. There are serious punishments for being a thief and a traitor.
So, you need a little insurance. You need to get enough politicians involved in your scheme so that if you are caught, they are caught too. Prosecuting one politician is way easier than prosecuting several politicians.
But you are committing a crime. Will they just join in?
Maybe. But there is another way.
You just convince them that this thievery of yours is a good idea.
You get a bunch of academic and government types to put out some nonsense entitled “Responsibility To Protect” and then tell the politicians that the brains think invading Libya is a good idea.
So the politicians OK your actions in Libya.
Now, they are caught.
They look criminal or stupid.
They can now be blackmailed.
The Republican leaders got played. The military didn’t have their finest hour.
I don’t care.
The Democrats committed crimes with regards to Libya and Qadaffi.
It’s time for justice.
Wonder how much he was paid to say what he did, even a moron knows better.

Good grief, McCarthy opened his mouth wide enough to fit the other shoe in it.
McCarthy is a protégé of Rep Bill Thomas of Bakersfield, a champion of Rockefeller-style Republicanism and the bête noire of conservative Republicans in California from the 1980’s into the 21st century.
Hillary will use Piss Boy's comments over and over again to deflect and run out the clock.
(1) Hillary would be thrown completely off-guard; (2) she loses her chance to raise funds she desperately needs, (3) she loses what she sees as her golden opportunity to showcase herself as a leader AND foreign policy expert before the electorate.
It's a win-win for us.
From what I’ve been able to pick up from different news stories Gowdy is far past Benghazi and is now getting into the original “spontaneous” lie from the Clintons which was the 1st WTC bombing in 1993.
There wasn’t anything “accidental” about McCarthy’s comments.
He’s trying to stop Gowdy.
That I can definitely believe....but is McCarthy that dumb that he didn't know the comment would screw-up his chance for speaker?
The Clintons have been collaborating with the terrorist since at least 1991 when plans were being made for the 1st WTC bombing.
He’s not worried about not being speaker he’s worried about not going to prison.
There is no way possible for Hillary to do what she did at Benghazi without repub leadership being involved.
