I put to you the same question I honestly put to all Cruz supporters

What has gotten our great nation in dire straits is a Federal Government that operates outside of its constitutional authority and in particular the executive of this administration.

Ted Cruz believes in the Constitution as written and is the most voracious defender of the Constitution. If we lose our Constitution all is lost. The Constitution is what allowed ordinary men to become an extraordinary nation of free men and women.

Please note the last six words of my tagline.

If Cruz is really an outsider, why did he become an insider?

We are in need of leaders with experience now more than ever, this is no time to try and win on style points..

Dirty Harry said it Best...

It’s a hell of a price to pay for being stylish

We need those who have and can do, dreamers have never taking their visions and turned it in to anything are not what we need NOW!

Mark Levin on his show today hammered this point home over and over, we are not going to get the perfect Conservative many want (the whole country has a say like it or not)

Basically he was saying if you are gonna stomp your feet and demand you get what you want because he meets a standard you feel more importance than actual behind the wheel time I will tell you there is a HUGE difference and we cannot afford inexperience, especially that in International affairs where he will be viewed as a puppy.

Answer this, what will Ted say to Vlad on their first meeting in this Vision you hold so dear. What would shake Vlad to say this guy has something I better be on my game

Please share and be realistic. I want to understand why it is you cling to so small a ledge for someone who has a steep mountain to climb to tackle the job

Could we please stop saying goomba when referring to Italians? Some of us goombas, including yours truly, support Ted and are loyal conservative FReepers.

Cruz served as Solicitor General of Texas for 5 1/2 years overseeing a large agency with hundreds of lawyers, arguing and authoring many cases before the Supreme Court.

Here is an article detailing his work with the FTC:
What No One Seems to Know About Ted Cruz’s Past

He serves on the Armed Services, Judiciary, and Commerce, Science, and Transportation Senate Committees.

He is running a well organized campaign leading in hard money donations and a solid ground program.

Quite simply, he is the most consistent Constitutional conservative and is willing to take a stand to get things done.

Good, DOJ is good for him now lets move on to the Leadership position, I say Trump has the best qualifications for that role...

Sorry, I have my doubts about Trump’s demeanor and cutthroat business strategies translating well into political diplomacy. I am wary of his past support for eminent domain, single payer health care, gun control, and other unconstitutional positions. I see more of a sales pitch coming from marketing research than core constitutional beliefs.

I understand your concerns and I take shifting positions and other transformations into account. I am not one now nor ever have been capable of giving myself over to anyone or anything except God Almighty and folks down in congress can kiss my grits!

As to a Pure Constitutionalist that will progress over time, evolution is something that works and is accepted as it fits with what is actually occurring

We have a dynamic country and we also do not need a new bunch of rules & minders to keep us in line in yet another way...

I thought he had a lot more than $26 m. The problem is through June he spent $5m, more than double what Trump spent through SEPTEMBER! If you pro rate that, Cruz has spent close to $15m and that amount of spending is about to geometrically explode given that he just hired paid staff in every IA county.

Wait, he has charisma but needs more charisma?”

Good catch. Busted!!!

The $26 million doesn't include the $38+ million in PAC money. These are figures up to July 31st:
Which Presidential Candidates Are Winning the Money Race

Cruz is building an effective ground game with enthusiastic supporters in dozens of states. I haven't seen the same from Trump.

Trump’s total lack of understanding of basic Christian doctrine is disturbing as well. He doesn’t need forgiveness, can’t quote a Bible verse, and points to Peale as his pastor of positive thinking. You would think that Trump would have an advisor that would set him straight. (and yes, we should be praying for him)

Maybe cuz you haven't looked?

"Ground game" absorbs terrific amounts of money unless you have unions or students. It is quite traditional that you "need" this to win. So far, Trump has been the most unconventional candidate in history.

As Texas Solicitor General, Ted Cruz led the office of 4,000 people, including 700 lawyers.

As the Director of the Federal Trade Commission's Office of Policy Planning, he created a task force on e-commerce to encourage competition on the Internet. His principle is to protect consumers, not billionaire real estate developers.

At DOJ, Ted Cruz helped lead the U.S. delegation to Rome for the Council of Europe's negotiations on a treaty relating to cybercrime. He recognized which country's delegate could be persuaded in order to get an agreement and got the terms of the treaty finalized. Notice that the president was not the one who negotiated.

green = Good, RED = Bad, yellow = Mixed Ted Cruz Ben Carson Donald Trump
Budget, Spending & Debt green yellow yellow
Civil Liberties green green RED
Education green yellow green
Energy & Environment green yellow green
Foreign Policy & Defense green RED green
Free Market yellow yellow RED
Health Care & Entitlements green green RED
Immigration green RED green
Moral Issues green yellow yellow
Second Amendment green yellow yellow
Taxes, Economy & Trade green yellow yellow

Budget: Cruz has made massive financial deals, has put tens of thosuands of people to work, has run a billion dollar business, and protected a bottom line.  Next flight of fantasy...
Civil Liberties: Trump has said he'll round up and deport illegal immigrants, build a wall that is 60 feet tall along our border.  This results in his red marker on civil liberties.  No sale.
Free Market: The "FREE MARKET"...  Nothing in life is free.  The cost of this "FREE MARKET" has been tens of millions of U. S. jobs.  Trump wants to bring them back.  That warrants a red marker.  LOL
Health Care and Entitlements: Trump has proposed a private sector replacement of Obamacare.  He wants to reduce entitlements as part of getting the budget under control.  This red marker is simply proposterous.
Moral issues:  What moral issues?  Good grief.  Name one moral issue Trump has a problem with.
Second Amendment:  This is simply a fraud.  Trump has a paper on Second Amendment rights, and it's recognized as a good one.
Taxes, Economy, and Trade:  Trump's tax position is good.  His economic experience is second to very few U. S. Citizens.  His trade view are more solid than any other candidate's.

In Cruz's favor, his free market mark isn't deserved either.

Trump is the go to guy because of his economic experience.  He is solid on other issues as well, but second to illegal immigration, our national debt and related matters are vitally important and need to be addressed.  Trump is the only candidate with the experience necessary to do that.

Cruz supporters are pleased to drop this bomb on the forum.

It isn't an accurate display on Trump.  As such it's actually a smear on Cruz when his supporters tout it as a reason to support Cruz.  What they should be doing is pointing out the obvious flaws in this ranking.  And RANK is the proper word here....
