You mean like the government’s attempt to take the Bundy ranch and their cattle? That didn’t work out too well for the govt and it only took about 500 militia to back down the BLM and the Las Vegas SWAT.
Why do you think that the govt has made no further moves agains’t the Bundy ranch? The reason is that the govt knows that it would likely Kick off CWII and they also know they are outgunned a million to one.
Just because you take a bunch of jumped up forest rangers and stick a tactical vest on them and hand them an M-4 does not a soldier make my friend. Nor a bunch of Homeland Security slugs or EPA drones. They are not soldiers and they have no chance agains’t the millions of trained combat vets that are sitting in every living room of this country.
The US govt trying to come for the guns will simply be the end of the US govt.

Claiming authority and making good on delivery of electricity, water, food, heat, and transportation are two very different aspects of maintaining a functional government. Supporting a city is a vastly more difficult task than supplying a military field operation (See Berlin Blockade).
The “empty shelves” would bring about quite a security conundrum within cities unexpectedly running out of everything at once. Whom and what to protect?

The future battlefield has already been prepped - (what do you think the media-incited mob-war on everything Rural, Christian, Conservative, Confederate and Southern is?); supplied (2 billion hollow point rounds stockpiled) and Failsafe allies (Iranian Nukes - open borders, arming ISIS from Benghazi). When the useful idiots in the cites start suffering shortages and privation - the applause for the Left to use whomever will do their dirty work and bomb the rural farms and Red States into oblivion via drones at 10,000 feet will be so loud - the planet may become deaf.

They always lead the revolution though. Don’t you know we have already had the revolution. Its happened in the past 7 years. The United States is no longer functioning as a Republic we are now an oligarchy.
If it comes down to we vs they we are talking about a counter revolution. The Constitutional Republic will be restored. It will not be a French Revolution. That’s not how we do it in the US. It will be short and sharp.

I think you are wrong on that score for certain.
I do not find any example in history where once a Republic fell that they were ever able to restore it. Adams more than made that point in 1775.
Conditions that exist in this country are similar to France in the late 1700's, and since we have thrown God out of this nation or sat on our hands watching the Secular Hedonists throw Him out for us, what comes in terms of 'revolution' will be exactly what DeToqueville warned would happen; a bloodbath followed by a hard despotism.
Those who would attempt to subdue patriots or confiscate guns need to remember that they too have families. And people know where they live. How can they do their job when they should be worried about the safety of their family?
I guess they would have to bus in "recruits" from other parts of the country, or from other countries in order to pull this off (sort of how the Austria-Hungarian Empire kept things in line).
This would just compound their logistical nightmare.
I'm assuming the "resistance" would have certain portions of the interstate and/or rail lines covered (this is a huge country), as well as repair/resupply depots.
We are not the French. This country is in the middle of a culture war. Its fairly evenly divided which means it cannot go forward like this. Someone has to win and someone has to lose. So if we don’t do this restoration politically we will be in a counter revolution. Either the Constitutional Republic will be restored or we will break up into 2 or more loosely aligned provinces. I live in the South. Its a tinderbox. We view the NE as so skewed its not really America anymore anyway.
