We are not the French.

Human nature is not limited to the French. But perhaps you think we are invulnerable to everything - when the fact we are no longer a Republic escapes your notice?

This country is in the middle of a culture war.

We LOST the culture war. When I cannot talk about the need for churches to repent and/or stand up against over sin - we have no possible means to recapture the culture which is being replaced before your eyes.

The fact is, we LOST the Republic. The government no longer operates within the bounds of the Constitution because we have a defecto dictatorship run by an oligarchy. That is NOT a Republic. It is in fact, a tyranny. But the majority of your neighbors are comfortable with this evil because it is sufferable, while the rest of the country pretends that we have not lost anything are simply arguing about things.

Someone has to win and someone has to lose. So if we don’t do this restoration politically we will be in a counter revolution.

You cannot stop tyranny via civil means. History bears this out time and time again.

Either the Constitutional Republic will be restored or we will break up into 2 or more loosely aligned provinces.

The Constitutional Republic is ALREADY GONE. The government and nearly every politician simply pay it lip service while they continue to impose the tyranny of men upon us.

The other fact of history is that you cannot RESTORE liberty lost. John Adams said as much in what I regard as a prophetic statement:

"A Constitution of Government once changed from Freedom, can never be restored. Liberty once lost is lost forever. When the People once surrender their share in the Legislature, and their Right of defending the Limitations upon the Government, and of resisting every Encroachment upon them, they can never regain it." - John Adams, July - 1775

I live in the South. Its a tinderbox. We view the NE as so skewed its not really America anymore anyway.

I live in the South - and there is anger out here among White Conservatives. Whether or not they will be willing to sacrifice their lives, fortunes and livelihoods has yet to be seen.

My thought about that is if we are not going to stand up for God's Commandments and our culture from being ripped down and removed - we are not going to do anything about political tyranny either.

From my Post #54 “They always lead the revolution though. Don’t you know we have already had the revolution. Its happened in the past 7 years. The United States is no longer functioning as a Republic we are now an oligarchy.”

Your current comment: “The government no longer operates within the bounds of the Constitution because we have a defecto dictatorship run by an oligarchy. That is NOT a Republic.”

I take the fact that you are poaching my comments as a compliment. :-)

YES.

Just reinforcing the point bluntly in case some folks missed it.

I think we stand a better chance of protecting what is left of our liberties by stating the clear reality of where we have arrived rather than what we hope for.

I do not think the majority understand where we are at. Most are still looking at next year’s election as some kind of salvation moment.

On this we agree. On election night 2012 I said that we have officically gone beyond the ballot box.

I don’t know that electing even Donald Trump can save us but I’m willing to have some small hope. One person can only do so much. He cannot fix an activist SCOTUS unless one of them dies and he can appoint another true conservative. He certainly cannot fix the two houses of Congress which I view as the worst problem.

Given the current level of animosity in this country who knows if we will even make it to Nov 2016. These next 15 months are the most dangerous time.

Indeed -- what ARE you prepared to do?

I'll lead, or follow, but just stay out of my way. If the SHTF, it will be a freeforall kill fest. The government will be disassembled. It will be a purge similar to the Russian revolution.

Now that's kinda weird...

The country is being destroyed by big gov liberalism and we expect a moderate with a couple of good political positions but other than immigration will do little to stem the tide of gov growth or a return to a constitutional format.

Even worse is that few or none of the positions can be verified as long held or not just created for the campaign.

But he's a great guy with nice kids, right?

Yep. For being so wrong in the experience of the average American citizen, it sounds about right.

I think Donald Trump is as upset about the condition of the US as you and I are. I also think he is prepared to do what needs to be done and has the force of personality to drag the Republican Congress along with him.

No other GOP candidate has that capacity IMO.

It’s partly that, but the primary fuel for it will be the forced reduction in welfare, food stamps, Medicare, Medicaid and social security.

When the money does not come, or it is worthless because it no longer has the same value as trading goods for goods, the former recipients will start burning other peoples stuff..

The reaction to that and the smoke and fire nationwide, will be the end of the US government, save some lame attempts to use agencies and military assets to control it, and that will end pretty quick as they defect to protect their own.

That’s what is coming...

But we fell off that cliff some time ago, and falling does not hurt and I don’t know how long we can fall before we hit the ground.

All I can say is that it has not happened yet. But physics says that it must.

That’s a nice sentimental description of Trump from your imagination. I see a lot of that.

But to me, it all appears to be projection where you unintentionally ascribe to someone else, traits and personality, beliefs, long held solid positions, and general political stature that has been created and not actually seen or witnessed.

If all that is true, then where has “that” Trump been?

I have not seen him.

Yeah, she dies on me.

Miss her but, she is survived by her two brothers.

I think I would like to take a drive to Vegas after the 1st of the year.

Would be great.
