Wrong. Sweden and Norway have the SAME rate of gun ownership, fairly high by world standards. Also same as Germany, Austria, France, Canada (all about 30 firearms per 100 residents, versus the US 88 firearms per 100 residents).

I had been under the mistaken impression that the Nose had a lot of guns because so many of them live in rather dispersed and wilderness places (where they would naturally have, at least to an extent, a hunting and bear-and-wolf-shooting culture) whereas most Swedes live in Stockholm or similar concentrations.

But I'm almost sorry I typed that, because it surely shows more of my ignorance!
