And .. it’s a common thing to interview a person in private in order to get a hard copy of their testimony, before you call them into an open session.
BECAUSE ..... if you don’t have a hard copy of any of the information they have given to you, before you bring them into open court .. it will allow them to testify differently, and you won’t be able to do a thing about it.
There was a very, very famous case about such an incident; I wonder if anybody can remember who it was and why their testimony was such a bombshell ..??
