Catherine of Aragon (1485-1535) is my 4th cousin 15x removed! It appears our nearest common ancestor is Edward Plantagenet III (1312-1377). Edward’s son John Gaunt is my 17th Great Grandfather. His son John Beaufort is my 16th Great Grandfather. So that makes Donald Trump family. Please watch whom you are calling a Democrat. ;-)

Are you in this picture also?

Well, I WOULD have been if TC would have moved out of the way to the left (in this picture) a little bit! We *were* in the front, but on the other side of him -- right behind the standing lights.

Have you any more pics? Where are you getting those? Were you there, too?

Did trump have a campaign representative address the first round?

I think he had some sort of Union/Construction guy speaking for them. With everything that was going on (including us chatting amongst ourselves), it wasn't always apparent who the speakers were representing, if anybody.

Catherine of Aragon being your cousin is incredibly cool. But wait...is Donald Trump related to her?

Bingo! This is another reason Trump needs the top spot. Besides, he would never play second fiddle.

deems past nominees like John McCain and Mitt Romney insufficiently conservative, and it hopes that coalescing around Cruz will prevent an establishment pick from prevailing again

Excellent. Conservatives becoming more organized can only be a good thing. GOPe has had control of the party for far too long.

Not even close to Reagan who had broad appeal.

Not even close to Reagan who had broad appeal.

I was in Connecticut in 1976 and 1980 when Reagan ran. Reagan ran WELL behind Carter for a long time in 1980 in polling. Of course Reagan wound up winning Conecticut in 1980. Half of the folks have no idea who Ted Cruz is, of the the other half, half of them would hate Reagan, too. In 1980, a lot of the chattering classes laughed at the idea of Reagan winning, and had more fear of a centrist like Geoge H. W. Bush or Howard Baker.

In my original post I was responding to someone suggesting that Cruz go after the GOPe. I made the case that he already had. Trump is running a great campaign, and one that only Trump can run. Cruz is unfolding his campaign. We will not know how broad Cruz' support will be until votes are cast in several months.

I will not acept any arguments that Cruz is "unelectable", because I have lived through generations of Republicans and Democrats saying that Reagan was unelectable, and later that Dole and McCain and Romney were safe choices.

That doesn't mean that Trump can't win, or hat Trump is a serious candidate. But these are the primaries; this is the time to vote your conscience. If Trump is unbeatable, then there should be little worry about ol' 8% Cruz. We both know that we want John Ellis Bush and his ilk out.

I'm not the only Cruz supporter showing respect for how Trump is shaping this race, and forcing the GOPe to throw fits. Let's follow the lead of both Trump and Cruz in going after the real enemy, the Ruling Class. (Which, oddly enough, Trump has been a member of, until he decided to run against them. In like wise, Cruz is an enemy to he powers in his own Senate.)

green = Good, RED = Bad, yellow = Mixed Ted Cruz Ben Carson Donald Trump
Budget, Spending & Debt green yellow yellow
Civil Liberties green green RED
Education green yellow green
Energy & Environment green yellow green
Foreign Policy & Defense green RED green
Free Market yellow yellow RED
Health Care & Entitlements green green RED
Immigration green RED green
Moral Issues green yellow yellow
Second Amendment green yellow yellow
Taxes, Economy & Trade green yellow yellow

Budget: Cruz has made massive financial deals, has put tens of thosuands of people to work, has run a billion dollar business, and protected a bottom line.  Next flight of fantasy...
Civil Liberties: Trump has said he'll round up and deport illegal immigrants, build a wall that is 60 feet tall along our border.  This results in his red marker on civil liberties.  No sale.
Free Market: The "FREE MARKET"...  Nothing in life is free.  The cost of this "FREE MARKET" has been tens of millions of U. S. jobs.  Trump wants to bring them back.  That warrants a red marker.  LOL
Health Care and Entitlements: Trump has proposed a private sector replacement of Obamacare.  He wants to reduce entitlements as part of getting the budget under control.  This red marker is simply proposterous.
Moral issues:  What moral issues?  Good grief.  Name one moral issue Trump has a problem with.
Second Amendment:  This is simply a fraud.  Trump has a paper on Second Amendment rights, and it's recognized as a good one.
Taxes, Economy, and Trade:  Trump's tax position is good.  His economic experience is second to very few U. S. Citizens.  His trade view are more solid than any other candidate's.

In Cruz's favor, his free market mark isn't deserved either.

Trump is the go to guy because of his economic experience.  He is solid on other issues as well, but second to illegal immigration, our national debt and related matters are vitally important and need to be addressed.  Trump is the only candidate with the experience necessary to do that.

Cruz supporters are pleased to drop this bomb on the forum.

It isn't an accurate display on Trump.  As such it's actually a smear on Cruz when his supporters tout it as a reason to support Cruz.  What they should be doing is pointing out the obvious flaws in this ranking.  And RANK is the proper word here....
