That depends on whether Trump can be trusted to keep his word. He’s never been elected to office so he has no track record of keeping campaign promises.
Not to mention who do you trust to actually return the 200,00 Godless Mideast barbarians Obama is going to bring here?
Most likely, the Saudis involved calculated that under George W. Bush, the US would make a de facto surrender and sue for peace with Islam via Saudi Arabia. As it was, under Bush, although the US attacked the Taliban in Afghanistan and Saddam's regime in Iraq, we did not have a public reckoning of accounts with the Saudis for their betrayal of the US.
Indeed, the Bush administration went out of the way to absolve the Saudis and Islam as having a role in the 9/11 attack. This has led to a long term lack of clarity in US strategy in the war on terror. It is hard to imagine that a Jeb Bush presidency would do anything to remedy that, while a Trump presidency would almost certainly prompt a review of US national security policies and strategy that would be unhindered by political correctness or the Bush family's tight connections with the Saudis.
Arguably, under Trump, US strategy could aim to cordon off Islam from the US and other developed nations, blocking immigration and asylum migration, and denying support for Islam's claims for special status. Genuinely moderate Muslim voices could be amplified and broadcast to the Muslim world as part of an information warfare effort. Finally, the intense development of energy resources by the US and its allies could effectively deprive the Saudis, Iran, and Russia of much of their income from their oil and gas resources.
Isolated, teeming with excess population, suffering a chronic lack of employment and economic progress, and crippled by a collapse in oil and gas resources, the Muslim world would tend to focus its destructive energies internally. Moreover, the adverse turn in Islam's fortunes would undermine Muslim confidence that world conquest is near or even possible. This could well lead to a decisive repudiation of Islamic supremacism, terrorism, and hostility to modernity.
No to Trump.
Yes to Cruz.
“whose policies would you rather have in place going forward and which will keep America safer? Trump’s deport and secure the border policy or Bush’s amnesty and open borders?”
Exactly. Let’s keep the focus where it needs to be, not get distracted by one of Team Jeb’s misdirections.
Jeb = fail.
Deport and secure for sure.
Frankly, there should be no need for discussion. Not if we expect to have a country rich in heritage we might be able to pass on to the next generation. No more talk. WTP want to see action!
Trump is a mensch. Jeb Bush is a lily-livered juvenile who can’t seem to understand that he is not running for president of Mexico.
Is this a trick question?
Trump and keep putting the blame on this whole escalating mess on Clinton and his not getting Bin Laden when he had multiple chances.
Aye, we should not argue over split milk. We do need to learn from our mistakes. We know NOW that the GOPe establishment globalists do not have the nation’s best interests at heart.
The followers of Islam, global warming & political correctness are tools of globalists to grasp power from freedom loving people in western nations.
They do not believe in our nation’s sovernty or care about our nation’s citizens. This 2016 presidential election will be about allegiance to the United States.
Nobody - not even Trump - is saying 911 was GWB's fault. The contention is that GWB did not "keep us safe." This is an objective fact that is indisputable.
Unwitting imbecile Jeb makes Trump's case for him - all in one amazing sentence:
We were attacked but safe? Seriously... WTF? Go Jeb.
We were not "safe" no matter how much applause Jeb got from that set-up, put-on debate audience full of his daddy's supporters. Even the "debate hunk" was discovered to be a donor-class invite.
Jeb Bush’s fevered wish to end our homeland in favor of a merged state with Mexico must never come true.
This is a great political strategy for Trump. He will pick up extra independents and democrats with this strategy. The base is mad as hell at the establishment so they could care less about the RINO bush dynasty.
Find it sad that so many supposed rational people find the truth such an attack on them.
I think if Jeb was not running, W would say Yeah, it did happen on my watch. Problem for him is Jeb is his brother and it would be seen as stabbing Jeb in the back so he is keeping his mouth shut.
I think W feels responsible for not stopping 09-11. Based on everything we saw in his relations with wounded soldiers, we know he feels keenly his role in sending Americans into combat. Anyone with any honesty and integrity in a leadership position after a disaster is asking themselves What if I had...
If leaders are not asking those questions, they are not fit to lead.
And if any of you want to dismiss me as a Trumpster I suggest you go look at my posting history. There has been no more active, passionate W supporter on this board than me.
Ted Cruz: Obama's plan to welcome 10,000 Syrian refugees is 'crazy'
Jeb Bush: Trump's vow to send back Syrian refugees 'a horrible thing'
How about Ted Cruz’ intelligence, gravitas and deeply held Conservative principles. How about his courageous fight against the Washington Cartel? Trump v. Bush is a sideshow which enlightens no one.
Let's be honest, every other candidate R or D can be substituted for "Bush" in that question, and the answer is obvious. Trump!
