The person he tried to knife was his friend. And the recipient of the hammer attack threat was his mother.

Yes, Carson is a mentally stable conservative worthy of the presidency. Not.

I think Dr. Ben was smarter when he avoided Donald’s obvious baiting. Now Carson is reminding the public of unsavory qualities he may not wish to highlight. Donald has been verbally poking Ben with a stick for days. He may wish to goad Carson into blurting out something that is as unsettling as it is offensive. This also works at taking Carson off message for a while.

The hammer attack was because she told him to change into different clothes.
The knife attack was because his bud was teasing him. He plunged the knife into his bud's abdomen according to one site. Another says the knife broke when it hit his bud's buckle.
Regardless, those were both "deadly" acts.

“”Think about this,” he told “Meet the Press.” “During slavery — and I know that’s one of those words you’re not supposed to say, but I’m saying it — during slavery, a lot of the slave owners thought that they had the right to do whatever they wanted to that slave. Anything that they chose to do. And, you know, what if the abolitionist had said, you know, ‘I don’t believe in slavery. I think it’s wrong. But you guys do whatever you want to do’? Where would we be?”

The person he tried to knife was his friend. And the recipient of the hammer attack threat was his mother. Such minor insignificant non-violent incidents. He's changed.☺

This goes a long way to explaining why he said he would not have shot Michael Brown. Gentle Ben and the Gentle Giant have a lot in common.

I am opposed to his candidacy because he is pro amnesty and anti 2nd Amendment.
Both of those are immediate deal killers.
Beyond that, I do not believe that his demeanor is suitable for the office. He isn’t the type of person that I am looking for.
Maybe he fits other people’s needs in that regard, but not mine. I am looking for someone who is harder to be perfectly frank.
And lastly, a little while ago, I found out that he threatened his mom with a hammer.
I love my mom.
That’s not cool what he did, even if he was 14. Something wrong with that.
But, full disclosure, I wasn’t a Carson supporter prior to learning that detail of his life.

The person he tried to knife was his friend. And the recipient of the hammer attack threat was his mother.
And then he turned his life around and has spent the rest of it helping others and saving lives. Sorry, I find this inspiring, not something to condemn him for. Carson apparently grew up in very rough conditions, and violence was a daily part of life where he lived. What matters is the man he is now - a man with many years of positive contributions to humanity.
