GOP senators desert Bush for Rubio
The Hill ^ | 11/8/15 | Alexander Bolton

Republican senators are coming around to the view that Jeb Bush is unlikely to win the party's nomination for president and that freshman Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.) is the most viable prospect for the general election.

Rubio has had plenty of support among Beltway pundits since the outset of his campaign but Bush's poor performance in the last Republican debate, together with his declining poll numbers, have begun to shift sentiment in even the upper echelons of the GOP's establishment.

"Marco's in the driver's seat. There's a lot of disappointment in Bush's performance," said one Republican senator, who requested anonymity to discuss the race candidly.

The lawmaker, however, left the door ajar to the possibility of a Bush comeback, noting that "expectations for Jeb are so low that it won't be hard to exceed them."

And when they realize he cant beat Trump or Cruz, Republican senators will coalesce around running him on a Unity ticket with Hillary to make the country work again, heal divisions and get back to doing the work of the people.

Think Wellstone Funeral.

Good.

As soon as Bush drops out we can all focus our efforts on getting Rubio to drop out.

From the article (I removed all the crap apostrophes):

A Senate Republican who backed Bushs father, former President George H.W. Bush, in a presidential primary, said Jeb **is in big trouble.**

**He is cross-ways with the Republican base. They see him as the epitome of a bought and paid-for establishment candidate,** the lawmaker said. **I dont see how he can get back in there.**

The source said even if he **showed more energy,** Bush would have trouble explaining his past statements in favor of a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants and Common Core education standards.

******************************

So, what the unnamed Republican senator is saying is - Bush did not fool them sufficiently so he must be tossed - maybe Rubio can fool them appropriately.

Is Orrin Grant Hatch in that group: people in UT will never figure it out.

Rubio was always the establishment and the chamber of commerce back up plan.

I despair of them ever facing reality. They are not capable of setting their thinking to rights.

How did we let those dysfunctional golems get so much power?

It seems to me that people who should never be allowed to be in charge of anything are in charge of *everything,* and I do not mean just the rogues gallery of racist America-haters that the Kenyan Commie has appointed, or just the career bureaucrats who tighten the noose of tyranny about our necks a bit more every day, or even just the CEO of GE and other functionally insane corporations. It seems to hold right down to the principals of elementary schools and managers of restaurants.

If a candidate doesn’t drive the leftards into a slavering, convulsing, howling, puking, chewing-their-own-lips-off, full-blown “Exorcist” seizure, that candidate is not morally fit for office.

The only one I see doing that is Trump.

Not a good sign from the GOPe. They rammed 2 losers down our throats the last 2 cycles. Actually, they have been doing it since Reagan. Now “THEY” are the ones on the ropes. They have no hope with Rubio either. Santorum is probably their next best candidate.

Buck up, things are going better than we could have ever expected. Ten Little Indians going down one at a time.

The holy trinity of Trump, Carson and Cruz still rocking.
