Campus leftists disrupted a Yale University conference on free speech and terrorized attendees Saturday as part of a lingering protest against school administrators' allegedly permissive attitude toward culturally insensitive Halloween costumes.

The clip I heard was some whiny female student and she sounded like a very unstable young woman. And unreasonable. How the heck did something like that get into Yale? Her emotions were at temper tantrum toddler level.
My German mother says this is all too familiar.
Most likely because they’ve been taught so much tolerance by their mentors. Well, they’re tolerant as long as they get their way. Otherwise, yammering whining little babies who just might need a good ass whoopin’.
Add “Mau-Mauing” to your vocabulary, it’s a great way to understand some current events, especially as they relate to Mizzou, Yale, Ferguson etc.
We are watching classic “Mau-Mauing” directed at bureaucratic and academic “flak catchers,” like the university president forced to resign yesterday by pure mob tactics. It works, so expect it to spread, as it has to Yale today. Those of us old enough to remember the 1960s have seen this all before, with Black Panther marches, campus administration office sit-ins, etc.
Radical Chic & Mau-Mauing the Flak Catchers

Radical Chic & Mau-Mauing the Flak Catchers is a 1970 book by Tom Wolfe. The book, Wolfe’s fourth, is composed of two articles by Wolfe, “These Radical Chic Evenings,” first published in June 1970 in New York magazine, about a gathering Leonard Bernstein held for the Black Panther Party and “Mau-Mauing the Flak Catchers,” about the response of many minorities to San Francisco’s poverty programs. Both essays looked at the conflict between black rage and white guilt.
“Mau-Mauing the Flak Catchers”
The second part of Wolfe’s book is set at the Office of Economic Opportunity in San Francisco which was in charge of administering many of the anti-poverty programs of the time. Wolfe presents the office as corrupt, continually gamed by hustlers diverting cash into their own pockets. The essay centers on the irony of these failed programs fortifying not the diets but the resentment and contempt of the Black, Chicano, Filipino, Chinese, Indian, and Samoan communities of San Francisco.[2]
Wolfe describes hapless bureaucrats (the Flak Catchers) whose function was reduced to taking abuse, or “mau-mauing” (in reference to the intimidation tactics employed in Kenya’s anti-colonial Mau Mau Uprising) from intimidating young Blacks and Samoans, who are seen as reveling in the new-found vulnerability of “the Man”. The flak-catchers smile pathetically, allowing their tormentors to indulge themselves in abuse; the process is seen as a farcical but useful expedient, condescending toward the resentment of these communities. He described one mau-mauer who would show up at the offices and hand over ice-picks, switch-blades and straight-razors that he said were taken from gangs, in exchange for payments from the program. As a result, much of the money of these programs was not reaching its intended recipients, rendering the programs largely ineffective.
The Ivy League is a hang-out for the mentally unstable. Check out the percentage of students who are in psychiatric counseling before you enroll your child in any university. Who wants to put them in danger by having them in the company of the weird and even dangerous? And that includes the faculty who will instruct them.
Maybe we can go into business and make some adult sized pacifiers for these overgrown tots. In the pot states we can lace them with weed and tell the kiddies to run along and sit in the corner.
Can’t wait for the Apocalypse so: 1) people will stop being offended so easily and whining about really stupid crap when they have more pressing things to worry about like water not being drinkable, earthquakes, mountains falling into the ocean, etc...(they can blame God for REAL global climate change), 2) the homos, leftists, Illuminatists, Muslims, and evil people in general realize there IS a God; hopefully they change their ways, and 3) Allah and the AntiChrist are revealed to be agents of Satan.
It looks like that among Obama’s legacies is going to be a renewal of 60’s style campus unrest.

I would have been on campus before the incident was over grabbing my brat by the hair and bringing her home with the shocking news that she get a job because I would not be paying for my child to act like a disrespectful idiot. These students think they are special and privileged. Well, they will be in the real world one day making demands and ending up on food stamps and welfare blaming everyone but themselves because they can’t make it in the real world.
“How the heck did something like that get into Yale? “
Her “special skill” is being able to memorize a textbook better than someone else.
All of Obama’s efforts you have listed will be either reversed or restored under the Donald or Sen. Ted.
We are seeing the college version of the French revolution and the China “cultural revolution” of the ‘70s. The mob upon success became even more power lustful...demanding more ideological “purity” among their fellows. As the madness grew the “leaders” began to turn on each other... as the purpose became power not “justice”. In France many of the initial leaders also ended up as “clients” of the guillotine, in China they were devoured by the mobs they created. It looks to be occurring again as spoiled coddled DemWit mental infants with little life experience demand never to be “offended”. The “fine print” being everything good and Godly offends them. Madness is the new normal?
Unfortunately, too many, nowadays, have no idea what happened.....they’ve been brainwashed by their profs and think they are unique
And it all started with those silly schoolyard games where no one wins or loses because they don't keep score. Look, little Johnny brought home a "participation" ribbon, and wow they can now choose the next rock star by voting on their phones!
This is the generation that never learned to deal with disappointment, never learned to deal with 'bullies,' and basically are missing core, vital, cultural skills to survive as adults. This sets them up perfectly to become the useful idiots of the progressive left. Mao had a cultural revolution take place in a few years. Children brought their parents out to be shamed and even executed. We're about to see some of this stuff happen in the United States and it will be the millennial generation that falls into this trap.
These last few elections have been crucial. And the American people have failed to choose wisely who will be their President. If the people choose another progressive, Hillary is an admitted progressive, America will fall into the annals of history. There will be a civil war and the Union will be broken.
And this is why I say 0bama is not stupid,
we were the stupid ones,
somehow thinking he wanted the same thing for America as we do.
Our bias, normalcy bias, allowed a lot of this to happen. Just a few short years ago, I recall fellow FReepers telling me this would never happen here, because we’d fight back...
Just expel them and settle it in court. Make an example out of them and move on. Backbone is a wonderful thing.
Those revolutions were followed by reaction. The French Revolution ended with France being ruled by a self-proclaimed emperor who was followed by a king named Louis with a Roman numeral after his name--the situation that prevailed before the Revolution. In China, the military eventually suppressed the mobs. Maybe the turmoil in the US will be followed by a right-wing imperial president.
Well, another Ivy, Brown University, provided a “safe space” with “cookies, coloring books, bubbles, Play-Doh, calming music, pillows, blankets and a video of frolicking puppies” for students who were upset that a libertarian critic (female, incidentally) was allowed take an opposing position to the current feminist dogma about “campus rape culture” in a debate on the subject. Maybe adult-sized pacifiers are not far behind.
