CLOVIS, Calif. -- The biggest weapons seizure ever made in a single home by the California Department of Justice, and it happened in Clovis -- more than 500 firearms and 100,000 rounds of ammunition.

"I believe it makes the neighborhood safer as well as the state of California," said DOJ Special Agent-In-Charge Michael Haroldsen.

State agents arrested 59-year-old Albert Sheakalee at his home last week. Sheakalee didn't deny having the impressive haul of weapons -- including ten assault weapons, 88 shotguns and 234 rifles. But his son tells Action News it was a bogus government gun grab -- even though state agents say Sheakalee isn't allowed to own any guns.

Think you need help?

You had better never seek it, lest this be you.

The Feral government cannot be trusted. One iota.

“The DOJ tracks people who still have registered weapons despite bans for mental health problems, restraining orders, or certain criminal convictions.”

Odd...I’ve been told that gun registration has nothing to do with grabbing guns.

Shouldn't his family be able to keep these guns? Yet another tyrannical act by the Feds.

LOL. No doubt he has other guns where the Feds will never find them. People better wise up and learn how where to keep their guns “safe” from the GUNstOpo.

Prosecutors haven't charged with a crime yet, but he's due in court next month and they could file a case by then.

The crux of this is they don't like anyone owning guns. They seized the guns even though they didn't charge him. It seems to me if they had a complaint that was legally actionable, the warrant (if there even was on) would have stipulated such. The article implies that he wasn't 'allowed' to own guns because of "mental health issues" but doesn't say what the 'issues' were/are.

NEVER tell the government or even local authorities what you own let the incompetent mother effers figure that out on their own, NEVER talk about or brag to your neighbors, either.

Why and who adjudged 59-year-old Albert Sheakalee as having mental issues. Lets see some facts.

Just owning forearms is not enough reason to say a person has mental issues.

The better find a charge or else they would have to compensate his family the dollar amount of the items seized wouldn’t they?

Absolutely correct.

And it is one of the FIRST questions they ask you when applying for a security clearance.

Psychological poop is not just poop. It is a poop swastika on your background wall.

This is why you should never “register” a firearm or answer any physician’s questions regarding mental health or depression.

At least keep the ones bought off private sales and acquisitions separate from those bought off Forms 4473.

This is not a fed action. CA registers firearms for this very reason........ so they know where to go collect them when the state so desires.

My son uses my address and is going thru a divorce. First thing his wife’s lawyer did was file a restraining order against him. First thing I did was to do a legal interfamily transfer of his guns to me.

The state DOJ still came to my door one nite, dressed like Navy Seals and wanting every gun registered to my son. They had no warrant and tried to bully their way in. I told them the guns were in my name and to go pound sand.

“The DOJ tracks people who still have registered weapons despite bans for mental health problems"

It would appear in the age of Obamacare that the DOJ has access to all of your medical records and that certain things in them can be digitally red flagged.

59 years old, 88 shotguns, 234 rifles, 10 "assault" weopons (whatever THEY are), don't add up to over 500 firearms ...

but hey ... we all know the media can't think, why should we expect math skills ?

They will find a mental problem. That is why the media is on the mental health bandwagon. They know that the law and order crowd along with the "Conservative" radio talk show hosts will not object. They also know that each time the shrinks, both Governmental and those paid by the Government, examine one for mental health issues that they will find at least one. That is all it will take for them to come after your guns, or prevent you from buying one.

All these mass shooters are publicized for a reason.

...state agents say Sheakalee isn't allowed to own any guns.

A careful re-reading of the second amendment does not reveal any reason for him to be forbidden to own guns. It shows no restriction on the crazy or the freed felon, who are as entitled to self-defense as the rest of us. Anyone who should not own weapons should not be running around loose.
