FORT DODGE, Iowa -- Every one to two weeks, Donald Trump descends into an Iowa town for one of his signature campaign rallies. But behind the big crowds of supporters is a campaign machine of staffers and volunteers that has built a formidable network...

The reach of the team's work is evident at its campaign rallies in the Hawkeye State...

...Steven said he got to personally know one of Trump's ground organizers, Chris Hupke, who oversees primarily the northwest region of the state for the campaign.

"He's probably around five times [more than] anyone from the other campaigns," Steven said. "He calls up just to see how...He's a good guy."

Hupke told NBC News that his focus is teaching would-be backers about the caucus process.

"It's all about the caucus and getting people educated and to understand what it means to caucus. And then following up..."

While Trump has campaigned in the major metropolitan areas of the state, the campaign has also targeted Fort Dodge-like events in smaller towns, including Newton (13,000 population), Oskaloosa (10,000) and Winterset (5,000).

"The fact that he's making the effort to come to Fort Dodge -- it makes you feel like you count...

"He actually put an effort to see a small town in Iowa," said Zach Sukovaty, 20. "Yeah, he may go to the big cities where there's a lot more people, but if he jumps around to small towns,...

In Fort Dodge alone, the campaign enlisted 40 volunteers...

Amid that conversation, Kim Hefty, 57, a farmer who drove 45 minutes from Bradgate for the event,...She is a lifelong Democrat who voted for Barack Obama...

"It gets to the point where it's about the person, not the party anymore," Hefty said. "I think Donald talks the talk and walks the

Even a bunch of moron Democrats are switching to Trump. Probably People Magazine celebrity worshipers, but at least it won’t be another vote for Clinton.

Yep, Trump can actually reach out and appeal to the middle, which is what the GOPee always says it wants.

It depends on how you define ‘appealing to the middle.’ In the GOPe’s case, the middle is whoever will give them the most money.

This reminds me of one of the things Rush talked about today. He said Trump is broadening the GOP base, which is supposedly a goal of the GOP.

Rush went on to express his utter amazement that the GOP -- which now has an example of how to broaden the GOP base in Trump -- is not trying to learn from Trump.

Instead, the GOP is trying to destroy him.

” In the GOPe’s case, the middle is whoever will give them the most money.”

In the GOPe’s case, the middle is the “class” that the GOPe is trying to destroy”

Fixed it.

For some reason, the brilliant consultants who gave us the Romney campaign think that the 'pubs should "broaden the base" but promoting pot and gay marriage.

No. They're the same kind of democrats who helped elect Reagan to two terms.

“More proof that Trump’s not a serious candidate.”

He’s just about the most non-serious candidate amongst the Pubs running, isn’t he /s. Well, I’ll tell you, he’s out there just about every day, all over this country. He’s working his tail off, and it will pay off big time. He’s going to have a massive ground campaign of workers volunteering on his behalf in every state in this country. A groundswell of troops fighting on his behalf. Mark my words. He’s got incredible troops working for him (verbally) right here on FR, doesn’t he. And dedicated to the max. I’m one of them, in case you haven’t figured that out, lol. A major cheerleader. GO TRUMP!

Having been an Iowa conservative activist for more than two decades, I know quite a bit about the staffers Trump has hired.

They’re no slouches.
