The woman was called a ‘socialite’ in the newspapers although I’m sure the real socialites in Tampa cringed when they read that.

What I find incredibly amazing about that whole smear was how the FBI supposedly broadcast the "gossip" to the media without anything but a "preliminary" investigation from a phone call from a prostitute? Thats the first time I'd ever seen the FBI get "all excited" at gossip.

Apparently, the analysts DID surprise “the brass” by openly and frequently contacting the IG. Not exactly a trivial step for them to take, under the UCMJ. Certainly not at that level of security clearance.

Apparently an Army Sergeant First Class was made an example of. He had his access to intel at CENTCOM pulled and was relegated to some kind of mop closet duty elsewhere. He has since been forced to retire and has hired a lawyer in Tampa. This story was once covered on Fox News and has since never been mentioned again.

Ignoring the facts of the matter always leads to disaster. Let me present two examples from history. The first example was the Japanese before Midway. They wargamed the battle, and the result of the exercise was exactly what happened. They simply ignored the information and sailed into defeat. The second, the Germans before Barbarossa. Again like the Japanese they wargamed the invasion. The results showed them they could not win, but they went ahead anyway and lost the war.

Thomas Ricks was on with John Batchelor Sunday night and he identified what I find to be the problem. There is no accountability within the Pentagon. Unlike the US Army under Marshall in WW2, when a general officer had 90 days to show he was a winner or be fired, today nobody suffers any consequence for failure. Nobody is relived of command for not winning. An officer presented a paper to the Pentagon back in 2006 and stated this very fact as being the reason for the lack of progress in Iraq. He boldly stated that a private who lost a rifle in combat would suffer more consequences than a general who lost a battle or the war.

Yes, our government agencies, including the FBI, are filled with JV bureaucrats.

And the military people at CENTCOM. What were the security people thinking?

What were the security people thinking?

What the head of Security says but also what the CINC of CENTCOM says also--legal or not--even if you have 19 years in service.
