A chapel sermon on love left a student at Oklahoma Wesleyan University feeling "offended" and "victimized."
But instead of capitulating to the offended young scholar, OWU President Everett Piper pushed back with a blistering rebuke of what he called "self-absorbed and narcissistic" students.
"This is not a day care. This is a university," he wrote in a blog that has since gone viral.
Back home in Tennessee, we call that a "Come to Jesus" moment.
"Our culture has actually taught our kids to be this self-absorbed and narcissistic," he wrote. "Any time their feelings are hurt, they are victims! Anyone who dares challenge them and, thus, makes them 'feel bad' about themselves, is a 'hater,' a 'bigot,' an 'oppressor,' and a 'victimizer.'"
Oh behalf of a grateful nation, I say, thank you, Dr. Piper.

About time.
Did they call him racist yet?
Hope his resume’s up to date.

Ya think he’d give a f***?
Now; kick some ASS!
(Yoda would understand...)
We have only to look at the Planned Parenthood inculcation in our schools.
Dr Piper has effectively summarized the consequences of P/Phood's misnomered "Family Life" education----embedded in our schools for 25 years K-12...(not only public schools).
The evil P/Phood satanic influence has left us w/ a disturbed, souless population of youngsters devoid of basic humanity.
So true and so very sad.
Add to that the overly casual numbing of their brains with drugs like Ritalin to bring them into "acceptable" modes of behavior in schools. I would not be surprised at the future discovery of a definitive linkage between these drugs and the spontaneous and violently bizarre behavior that's occurring with increasing frequency among young adults.
Good point. The youth population on drugs continues to astound.
Soulless corrupted kids, devoid of a moral compass, committing astounding crimes....killing parents, friends, girlfriends....raping, stealing, etc.
The youthful atrocities go on and on.
Between legalizing murder under the name of ‘Planned Parenthood’, and the theft of many Americans’ money via paying teenage sluts for their getting pregnant through Social Security funds, this has been a ‘situation normal’ for America for over 35 years.
And even now, with all the good folks standing silent dutifully, and all the politicians’ circular rhetoric, it ain’t really changed.
Now, yes, we, who have had the responsibility to see what our children are being taught, by those we have elected to school boards for so many years before the turn of the Millenium, have handed over to those elected morons, lock, stock, and barrel, that responsibility, so that the parents can get on with their lives, leaving the trust with those officials.
How has that worked out?
What do you now see happening?
What have you done in response to that? Have you pulled your child out of college? Have you revoked any future payments to that college? Have you whupped your child’s butt, for being such a moron and shaming the family name?
I can surmise that you have done none of that.
“The evil P/Phood satanic influence has left us w/ a disturbed, souless population of youngsters devoid of basic humanity. “
The job for parents is to monitor all of the teachers, and their lesson plans. I have no doubt you did this.(Ignore the FReeper who has decided he/she/it can read your mind)
1 Corinthians 13 hurt him and made him feel “marginalized”????????? Its King James version is one of the most beautiful scripts in the English language. It is one of the foundational messages of Christianity. My mother asked that it be the basis of the sermon at her funeral. It was read to her on her deathbed. If this poor student can’t hear this verse without feeling hurt and “marginalized,” he will have a very, very difficult path through life.
I’d have one question about the context, however.
Do they really believe in an effectual (not just a symbolic) God, those who are preaching it? And make it clear that they do?
Because if they don’t — the student really has a point. Being told he has to do this stuff, and no God to help him along as is needful (in fact the passage is deep in a church context so there is no question about that).
I have just finished reading Atkinson’s history of the Allied campaign in Italy during WWII. How would this fragile student have fared at Anzio, San Pietro or Cassino? If this is student is an example of what our youth have become, God help us if when we are next in an existential struggle.
When the draft returns, these spoiled babies will grow up instantly. Boot camp is just what they need. Won’t that be something to behold?
” If this is student is an example of what our youth have become, God help us if when we are next in an existential struggle.”
Forty years of leftist indoctrination in our public schools has left far too many students, sheltered, confused, and most importantly GODLESS. Again, parents(even some good ones) dropped the ball. The left never sleeps. Their bible is leftism.
