Does Injury by firearm include M1 thunb?
It it didn't kill you, it made you - and your thunb stronger.
CDC source:
from Table 10 in the CDC’s 2013 Cause of Death data.
“Deaths: Final Data for 2013”
http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nvsr/nvsr64/nvsr64_02.pdf
Table 10. Number of deaths from 113 selected causes, Enterocolitis due to Clostridium difficile, drug-induced causes, alcohol-induced causes, and injury by firearms, by age: United States, 2013
And I’d argue that the suicide count should be left out of the calculation of deaths caused by firearms. Nearly half of suicides are non-gun related, and someone bent on suicide will simply find another way to do it. They’ll happen at nearly the same rate even if every gun in the country has been melted down.
So, we’re left with drugs and alcohol alone being responsible for about six times the deaths caused by firearms. Over 75,000 versus less than 12,000 (excluding suicides). Meanwhile, the left continues onward toward further drug legalization. Go figure.
