Millennials’ mysterious support for permissive gun laws
Washington Post ^ | 09 dec 2015 | Catharine Rampell

When I was in middle and high school, there were spirited public debates about whether the proliferation of grisly movies, gore-glorifying song lyrics and shoot-’em-up video games might desensitize my peers and me to violence.

(snip)

A decade or two post-adolescence — as our own preschool-age children now practice “active shooter” drills in which they’re coached to cower in the closet or throw toys at a tactical-gear-outfitted maniac — millennials seem to have neither the desire nor the willpower to pressure our political leaders to do much to prevent such tragedies. If anything, we may be slightly more blasé about them than our elders.

she’s trying to “shame” millenias into thinking their support for the 2nd Amendment allows terrorist acts to happen.

Video games and movies.

The average Mill views firearms as at worst a toy, at best a tool. They have been exposed to them in media for as long as they have been playing games.

It is the same reason why there are so many brass throwing black rifles at the range fired by young men and women. Which makes my reloading supplies that much easier!

Heck, I am gen X, and we are pretty pro gun. The Mills have a lot of faults, but fearing guns isn’t one of them.

Perhaps because millennials grew up in a post- 9/11 world. A world the mainstream media refuses to admit exists.

No mystery to it. In their typical smug condescension, liberals have forgotten kids can see through BS.

Unlike many previous generations Millennials have grown up with no delusions about black teens wanting to rob them or beat them into a coma. It’s all very out in the open now.

I absolutely love the gun control debate. Its a rare area where the Libs get their asses handed to them over and over and over. And the fact that young people, who for the most part are good little liberal Communists, are pro-gun, its all the better. The Libs are losing this argument and losing it badly, even among the young. Its good to see them utterly defeated on at least one issue.

Why is it a mystery? Millenials have a strong Libertarian streak that is permissive about just about everything....bad internet behavior, sodomy, pot smoking, welfare sloth, etc. etc. etc.

If her argument makes sense, then it also makes sense to say that the proliferation of free and easy birth control causes epidemics of rape...

With millenials, we gun owners are WINNING! I try to take out my kids' young friends to shoot as often as I can. THEY LOVE IT! They've gotten to the point that when they come to the house, they ask, "WHEN ARE WE GOING TO THE RANGE"?

Oh yeah. Winning.

Catharine Rampell - a truer number than polls is the number of people buying guns for the first time.

Most of us don’t want to ‘upset’ a poll-taker by offering up a politically incorrect position... The true vote is the one people make with the feet - right to a gun store...

The UWEE don’t have to buy guys because they have guns protecting them by secondaries... like the Security Guards that protect the building YOU work in Catharine Rampell ... and maybe the buildings you and your co-workers live in....

What’s a UWEE?

It’s the shadwo party - - Unified Washington Establishment Elites (UWEE -sounds similar to a pig call). And yes, THAT group wants gun control... because their ass is covered... and protected.
