I studied Torah later in life and came to the conclusion that as a mere mortal, I cannot judge another’s relationship to HaShem.

Some ultra Orthodox Jews are the most anti-Zionist. Entire sects both here in the US and Israel don’t recognize the Israeli government as legitimate.

Those who don’t wear tzizit or don tefillan remain in the US decades after the establishment of the Jewish state — some who give Cruz thousands of dollars or considered sharp political conservative voices — in your world view, I’m supposed to condemn them as not being ‘real’ Jews?

Cruz has suggested that if elected his interpretation of the Bible would take precedence over the Constitution or anything the Supreme Court says.

Hmmm, no. That's not what he's suggested. He's stood firmly on the US Constitution and against SCOTUS making law. It seems to be an easily understood distinction that liberals, nonetheless, have great difficulty grasping.
