What I heard he said was that he “hadn’t been watching enough cable news to know how upset people were” about recent terror strikes, including those in Paris and San Bernadino.
I agree with you entirely about his tacit admission of living in a bubble.
But I think he was also sneering at the kind of people who would be angry or frightened in Obamerica, also at those foolish enough to follow the cable news.

Obama doesn’t know jihadist mass murder of Americans upsets Americans? Yet he loves to lecture us on what “our values” are.
He doesn’t care because he and the princesses are very well protected so as long as he can fly around and vacation for free and be protected at the same time, he could care less.
