You’ve got to be kidding. Cruz is hated by his peers and doesn’t even receive legislative courtesies. He is trained to manipulate words. Reagan was not - he said what he believed.

Read a story about Ted when he was champion of his debate team and ran for president of the debate team. He was so disliked by his fellow members that they coaxed someone else into running, someone who didn’t even care, and that guy beat Ted. You’ve got to be able to get along - not just stand in front of a microphone.

Cruz has zero sway over the senate He’s correct on every point. He’s just about always right, except when he’s equivocal about amnesty, he does have donors to feed, but he cannot sway congress

Trump is a very quick study. If he sticks close to constitutional principals, and that’s an if, he’ll be great. He wil figure out how congress is supposed to work and he’ll work them
.......................................................

Great post. Agreed!

No dementia is not kicking in. My computer went off and I thought it was gone because it wouldn't turn on. I hit the power cord with my chair. As far as the other one goes, the one from WND that was posted on the 18th as an excerpt and Townhall lets you post the entire article unless it's an AP article.

Now quit making a fool of yourself by trying to be Freerepublic's Snitch

Last but not least stay away from my threads, and stop highjacking other threads from other freepers like you have been doing

Keep right on. However lacking Cruz may be, Trump is even more lacking. At least Cruz has authentic principles that are reasonably conservative. Donald Trump is a liberal, which you would know if you bothered to pay attention to what he’s done and said in the past - what he said before he figured out “conservatives” were so easy to dupe if you just spouted certain code phrases to them.

Trump wants to be president, true enough, but he’s running as a faux republican rather than under his true liberal stripes because he doesn’t want to challenge the DNC/Clinton machinery in the primaries for the nomination, and doesn’t want to wait in the seniority line, which is now putting forward Clinton because she “earned it.” That is precisely what Michael Bloomberg did when he ran for Mayor of NYC: he wanted to be mayor, he didn’t want to wait his turn in line in the DNC seniority pecking order, so he hoodwinked the desperately delusional NYC republicans (many of whom, even so, are fairly liberal, being “rockefeller republicans”).

The one thing Mayor Bloomberg was not was a champion of any of the core/traditional GOP principles; he was a very effective liberal tool. Trump is cut from precisely the same cloth (he even comes from the same political nursery Bloomberg came from: NYC).

Cruz would never make it past Hillary. His base is too narrow.

We shall see. While I generally don’t give much credence to polls, I do pay some attention to trends in various polls, and it looks like the momentum has moved to Cruz, and away from Trump.

Obviously, Cruz doesn’t know how to work the Senate. What makes you think he could handle the entire government? He’s just go along with business as usual in his votes and once in a while make a grandstanding side show for people to gobble up.....throw around some bear hugs to his opponents, and expect people to swallow his typical politician tactics. He’s already shown in that “Secret Meeting” what he REALLY thinks of Trump. I’m sure that disqualified him from Trump’s vice president running mate. Would rather see Allen West VP anyway. Allen is just as smart, if not smarter, than Ted Cruz any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

“And Donald Trump? Well, Steve Deace, my friend and fellow Cruz supporter, recently summed up Trump’s conservative bona fides on CNN: “I know the establishment hates Trump, but Cruz was right to welcome him to the GOP. We’re trying to grow the party. And in Trump, here’s a lifelong Democrat...”

Steve Deace is a liar. “Lifelong democrats” don’t hang out at the Republican National Convention, don’t endorse Republican presidential candidates, don’t call out Obama on his missing birth certificate, etc.

Maybe if you quit posting duplicates.

And they aren't your threads.

If he dislikes Trump, then he’s on the same side with most rational people.

News Flash!!! Townhall.com did not write the article. The author of the op-ed is Matt Barber.

Townhall.com published the article as did World Net Daily.

Do you know the difference between an author and publisher? This is really getting old

Do you believe he’ll build the wall? Do you believe he will deal with third world country immigrants brought here to live on welfare and vote rat? Do you think he’ll do something about the corporations giving their jobs to foreigners (something I see every day in my job)? Do you think he’ll do something about the absolutely insane spending by DC?

What don’t you think he’ll do that he’s talked about?

As may be..
But the same person posting the same thread an hour later seems a bit excessive.

“Donald Trump has more know how in his little finger than Ted Cruz has in his head...”

I have been following presidential races closely since 1980 when Reagan ran. I have never seen a presidential candidate given an almost divine status as has been assigned to Cruz. Emphasis on assigned. It is creepy. Ronald Reagan, who was a hundred times better at articulating a conservative message than Cruz, was raked over the coals by candidates of both parties and all the elite. And, he had actually accomplished something as governor of California for eight years.

The people are being heard with Cruz or Trump. You do your candidate a disservice by alienating voters he might need in the general elections. Which is most important, the person or the principles? You are not electing a King. Why have a “hate all others” approach?

Baloney! Reagan was a Democrat! Trump’s concern with the nose dive of America started many long years ago. He cares about America and American people, not about playing politics as usual. I don’t care as much about “Labels” which seems to be the mental limitation of some people who believe....everybody has to fit into such or such cracker box to be acceptable....I care about RIGHT NOW and what can be done by the person best qualified to get this country’s economy back in order. Cruz is out of his league. I don’t care how perfect a Cracker box “conservative” he is or is not. I care about WHO has the skill set to right our sinking ship. The ONLY choice is TRUMP!

I can say this without a cheap return personal insult

“...how to work the corrupt crony capitalist circuit”

If you don’t think this is a perfect description of the current political system and government , you are not paying attention

“Unless Trump plans to do everything unilaterally through executive orders - just one more way he would be like Obama - then he’ll have to convince Congress to work with him”.

Here is the thing... Trump is a real estate developer from New York. One of the biggest factors of success as a real estate developer is the ability to persuade and compromise with a group of people (City Council, Zoning and neighbors) some who are very, very angry at you. As a developer you have to get hostile people to go your way. Its a very difficult job. You have to be both tough and persuasive. I think our country can use a little bit of that right now.
