lol stop being a silly little punk

We installed/supported/sent arms to all kinds of despots in efforts to keep Russia back. Heck we used to store munitions and arms in Somalia. Supplies we essentially abandoned when the cold war ended as they were no longer needed.

You are absolutely correct. The same with Assad in Syria.

InfoWars? Alex Jones? Do you think those are credible sources?

Correct.

But this is part of the ‘blame America for everything’ narrative the left teaches in their indoctrination camps, er, public schools.

A close fried who spent A LOT of time in Afghanistan and Iraq as a civilian advisor with daily contact with local business and govt people has told me they didn’t mind so much. At least they knew what the rules were. Dont cross Saddam and he pretty much left you alone aside from turning off your water to fill his swimming pools every now and then.

How did Saddam get into power? Who supported him? Who kept him from being removed?

Same for the rest.

We danced with the devil to fight the bigger evil of Russia. Its not left wing to acknowledge the reality of what we did.

This was probably sound strategic thinking at the time.

Reagan received similar warnings about funding the Mujahadeen. He decided that taking down the USSR was the critical goal and did it anyway.

Things never change.

An acclaimed historian tells, for the first time, the full story of the conspiracy between the Germans and the Turks to unleash a Muslim holy war against the British in India and the Russians in the Caucasus. Drawing on recently opened intelligence files and rare personal accounts, Peter Hopkirk skillfully reconstructs the Kaiser's bold plan and describes the exploits of the secret agents on both sides-disguised variously as archaeologists, traders, and circus performers-as they sought to foment or foil the uprising and determine the outcome of World War I.

...the book traces the roots of many modern crises: Britain, trying to create buffer zones against Russia, occupies Afghanistan and considers seizing Baghdad, where a British diplomat blithely proclaims that Sunnis and Shiites “could always be played off against each other.”

Yeah. That the kind of editing that gets people killed. Like when Putin warned Obama about the Chechens. Remember that? I thought not.

A standard “Let’s You And Him Fight” ploy. They work OK in the short run, but can come back to bite you in the butt in the long run.

“I do not go to InfoWars and I do not listen to Alex Jones.”

Really? You linked an article which states:

“Last week I wrote about how open-source documents expose that the CIA worked directly with Saudi princes to create ISIS. In another bombshell revelation, former Top Secret Intelligence Bulletins uncovered by journalist Wayne Madsen reveal that the CIA has been backing Muslim terrorists since the 1950s and even attempted to use them in a failed effort to undermine, overthrow, and conquer the former USSR. Via Infowars:”

Follow the link. Your “bombshell” is taken completely from Infowars.

A few years ago I was watching the Boston Marathon. When the bombing happened I already knew there was a drill planned for that day and so I wasn’t surprised when the bombing happened.

I watched video taken from across the street and reported it here on Free Republic.

My report was removed by a Moderator on orders of Mr.Robinson, because InfoWars had reported exactly what I had seen, too.

So, does the fact that InfoWars reported something made it invalid, or do you make it a habit to shoot the messenger?

By the way, I did not see that reference to InfoWars; I did read that the article was reported by Wayne Madsen.

“By the way, I did not see that reference to InfoWars; I did read that the article was reported by Wayne Madsen.”

I do not make a habit out of “shooting the messenger”. I do make it a habit to follow links. Your article is a direct lift from infowars. And, yes, anything reported by infowars or Jones is automatically suspect.

You really need to be more careful of sources.

The thing about Alex Jones and infowars is they cry wolf all the time and Jones makes his living with this kind of stuff; it’s his job so when he does say something truthful, one doesn’t know to believe it or not. Shoebat is hit and miss but he, debka file and a number of sources are to be skeptical about.
