Benzi Gopstein, leader of the extremist anti-assimilationist group Lehava, has called for the prevention of Christmas celebrations in Israel and the expulsion of Christians whom he compared to "vampires."
"Christmas has no place in the Holy Land," he wrote, adding "Let us remove the vampires before they once again drink our blood."
The Israel Movement for Reform and Progressive Judaism and the Coalition Against Racism have asked the deputy prosecutor for special functions, as well as the police unit in charge of cybercrime, to investigate. The movements wrote: "The article calls for the prevention of celebration of Christmas, the most important Christian holiday, and to work to remove Christians from Israel." The groups also noted that Gopstein's description of Christians as "vampires and blood-suckers" contravenes the law prohibiting insult to religious feelings.
"This statement was not made in a vacuum but in the context of many acts of violence against Christian clergy in recent years," the groups wrote.

Paging Abe Foxman.
Every group has deceived fools and bad apples.
Every religion has it’s handful of extremist nutballs.
Except Islam where they appear to dominate.
If it weren’t for Christian support there would be no Israel.
I didn't know that TBN aired in Israel.
Sort of the Fred Phelps of Israel, arrested several times and suspected of terrorist involvement.
If you'd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.

Surprised Ha'aertz left right wing out of the headline. According to Arutz Sheva he was still in jail for incitement as of a couple days ago
“Christmas has no place in the Holy Land,”
That right there shows you you are not dealing with a rational individual.
LOL!!
I don’t know about vampires, but Christmas is an invalid holiday invented by catholics. Jesus was born when the shepherds were out in the fields (thus the angels talking to them when they were out in the fields) and it would NOT have been in December since Israel is in the northern hemisphere so it was Winter there too.
Citizenship a problem? I give you Barack Obama.
:-)
Every group has deceived fools and bad apples.
The key difference here is that these Jews won’t start beheading or even harming Christians based on their beliefs.
Read more at Haaretz? I don’t think so. We might as well read more from our local Wiccan sourcebook.
Haaretz hates Israel, and Jews, and especially Jewish Israelis. The guy they’re writing about here is a “Jewish Leader” as much as David Duke is an American Leader. Where this nutball is leading, nobody is following — except, of course, the fascists at Haaretz, who follow him around and pay attention to him so they can put him in a glass case and label him a Jewish Leader.
Meanwhile two Jews were stabbed at the Jaffa Gate to the Old City this afternoon; their attackers were dispatched by two (female) Border Policemen, but a third, innocent bystander was hit by a round from the Border Police and may have been killed. The headline on the incident at the Official WAFA website — the one run by actual Palestinian Leaders, with followers — says “Israeli Police Fatally Shoot Two Palestinians in Jerusalem.”
The people who call for, praise, and lie about these attacks are the “leaders” whom Haaretz respects.
You’re absolutely right. While this guy’s views are extreme, what bothers me about Israel and Judaism is that, as a rule, the tolerance, appreciation and support is by no means reciprocal. Christians are no more popular in Israel than Muslims.
wrong:
Just weeks before Pope Francis makes his first pilgrimage to the Holy Land in late May, Christians in Israel are grappling with an upsurge in threats and attacks on churches by Jewish extremists.
Last week, an assailant defaced the Notre Dame of Jerusalem Center, the local headquarters of the Roman Catholic Church, scribbling graffiti in Hebrew reading, “Death to Arabs and Christians and to everyone who hates Israel.” This followed a letter received by a top Catholic official that threatened to kill him and other Catholic clergy in Israel.
Vandals also damaged a Romanian Orthodox Church in Jerusalem, spray-painting it with the words: “price tag,” “Jesus is garbage,” and “King David for the Jews.” It was another of a wave of both anti-Christian and anti-Arab graffiti and vandalism that has swept through Israel in recent weeks.
I thought Easter was the most important (and universal) Christian holiday? Do all Christians even celebrate something on Dec 25th?
I’m sure the Israel-first thought police will show up soon to call you “anti-Semitic.”
Gee, is he strict! I wonder what he thinks of muslim vampires that actually kill people?
