I would like the 40’s.
It’s not so bad in the “neighborhoods” but as soon as I go near the ocean the cold wind off the water is unbearable. It’s only the low 30’s but the sea winds are really cold and biting.
As i said, there are a lot of Asian people where I live. My Dad (RIP) used to walk down on the beach and look at a lovely Chinese Garden with a Koi Pond. Today, while walking past the Garden I noticed that the Koi Pond is FROZEN! I hope the fish got brought indoors!

Good evening, Larry...it is a nice feeling to be military friendly. A little different than Maine, huh?

I got my start at Camp Blanding.
Daddy was sitting on the pier of the officer's club watching Army nurses compete to see who could stop a speeding bicycle closest to the edge without landing in the lake. Momma was an Army nurse.
I was born in September of '42.

I have some frozen cod in the fridge for New Years Day’s Sicilian Cod Stew, a recipe from my father’s side of the family.

She is! Her walk is less of a shuffle now. Just needs to straighten up one foot so she doesn’t trip over the heel with her other foot!
I worry that she’s bored though. We don’t do a whole lot and have been sort of house bound because of the snowstorm we had. :)

Sorry for bursting in without permission, but after getting home at almost 9:00 p.m. I saw the news of this Hero's passing and had to scramble to put it together for this evening. Now I must retire for the evening - the 0430 Reveille approaches quickly!

My father trained at Camp Blanding in 1944. Next stop: Ardennes. He spoke of his buddies who didn’t make it until his death in 2009.

Not born there, just where they met. By the time I got here Daddy was in the S. Pacific and Momma was in Ohio with her family.
