Jeb Bush Not A Gun Owner: Republican Presidential Survey Reveals Candidate Doesn't Own Firearms
IBT ^ | 9/8/15 | AARON MORRISON

Jeb Bush isn't packing, according to a gun ownership survey of U.S. Republican presidential candidates published by the Daily Telegraph of London Tuesday. Despite his “A+” rating from the National Rifle Association, the powerful gun lobby, Bush is one of the few candidates who does not own firearms.

Chris Christie, the governor of New Jersey, and Carly Fiorina, the former Hewlett Packard boss form California, also do not own guns, according to the Telegraph survey. While Bush, the former Florida governor, has touted his pro-gun rights record and state-level anti-gun violence laws, his not owning a weapon himself has concerned some Second Amendment gun rights groups.

"That he doesn't even own a gun for his own protection strikes me as somewhat disconnected from the reality that many Americans face," Larry Pratt, executive director of Gun Owners of America, a gun rights group, told the Daily Telegraph.

I am becoming more and more less interested in who the NRA supports or does not support, frankly.

I think like AARP, with the NRA there are better and more honest brokers out there who actually care about and address the needs and wants of its members.

Maybe the guy has "protection."
I wouldn't be surprised.

Meh. There are Freepers who don’t own a firearm but support the 2A. Sure, it’s Jeb but not worth it to get riled up when he’s toast.

We have bigger fish to fry with Klownie the Kenyan with his gun control crap.

The rich and powerful don’t carry their own protection any more than they carry their own water. It’s all done for them.

I don’t support Jeb Bush and think he would make a terrible President.

But, the right to bear arms also includes the right not to bear arms.

Just as freedom of speech also includes the freedom to remain silent.

Jeb "Act of Love" Bush's lack of respect for national sovereignty and for the rule of law concerns me enough that I could not under any circumstances vote for him. Someone who rewards illegal behavior with citizenship could just as easily reward large campaign donations with government favors (using my money to do it!). No thank you. His lack of guns would concern me too, but only if I cared enough to look beyond that first fatal flaw.

It's like hearing that your daughter is dating a convicted serial rapist. You might not like the fact that he's an Obama voter too, but most people would (1) assume that in a rapist, and (2) not care about his treasonous votes given the equally severe flaw of being a predator who hurts innocent women.

Politicians like the Bush’s hold typical GOP voters in total contempt.

They want to be loved by the elitist media and DC insider types more than anything.

Most importantly, when someone comes into his office talking all the liberal crap about the need for background checks, delays, buying guns on the internet, gun shows being unregulated, etc,,,. He has no experience to know that it’s BS.
He is a danger to your rights.

Don’t forget Bush 1 gave us the assault rifle ban.

True dat. GOA comes to mind right off the bat.

To be honest, I wouldn't trust Juan Eduardo Arbusto with a firearm. He has many of the same qualities of a person whom I made the mistake of taking to the range with me and made me regret it... (I'll spare you the story except to say everyone came home in one piece so it didn't go as bad as it could have)

Also just to clarify one thing, while I'm not a fan of iCarly, (HP lost waaaay to many people on her watch) I believe in being fair. I've read in other places that her husband owns the guns in their house. Whether she is a shooter or not is up to her, one would suppose. I'd think more highly of her if she does but I wouldn't know.

I just hope if she gets that cabinet appointment she's angling for it isn't secretary of labor.

Trump has this. He has guns, has spoken of his CCW, and regularly speaks of this. Cruz makes mention, does the requisite pandering but he doesn’t come across as believable. The others, no surprise. Not sure I’d want to be near Christi if he did have a gun.

I have no use for John Ellis Bush, but I prefer an honest answer of non-ownership over the John Kerry “Kin ah git meone of them thar huntin’ licenses hay-ere” type of responses, or Mitt Romney’s secret penchant for varmint huntin’.

Because he`s another one who pays peoples who do to protect him. But I`d bet he doesn`t want us to own one.

Carly needs to spend time with whats left of her family. She destroyed HP and lots of American jobs. She should get no place in any administration. Very upsetting if she did. I doubt a President Trump would, he’s already said “She’s Fired” or should have been, calling her incompetent. You can’t walk that back, besides, Trump does not hire incompetent people.

Just as freedom of speech also includes the freedom to remain silent.

Actually the opposite. Freedom of speech comes with the responsibility of using it where appropriate. Same with gun ownership.
