The Federal Prosecutor pushing this was soon after pushed out for stalking a married male subordinate. She is a clear nutcase and I’m betting this gets settled with some good lawyering. A more clear good cause would be hard to find.
Brown (a already-convicted felon) was one of those guys who refuse to pay their federal taxes and then tried to make a business/movement of the whole "there is no law that says you have to pay taxes" scam.
He was indicted on tax evasion for 11 years of arrearages, he decided to represent himself in court, and was convicted.
He refused to turn himself in when the day came and holed up in his compound (it was literally a compound - several buildings on 100 acres).
So the US Marshals service sat on the place, realized that they loved to entertain fans and ask their fans to bring food, supplies, etc. So some undercover marshals went to a party they were having and cuffed them.
They deserve to be in prison - they were tax evaders, they made specific death threats in writing to various people, they tried to solicit others to commit violent crimes, etc.
