The child’s parents should contact the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate to apply for a Consular Report of Birth Abroad of a Citizen of the United States of America (CRBA) to document that the child is a U.S. citizen. If the U.S. embassy or consulate determines that the child acquired U.S. citizenship at birth, a consular officer will approve the CRBA application and the Department of State will issue a CRBA, also called a Form FS-240, in the child’s name.

Except Vattel does not use the term “natural born citizen”, nor did anyone translate it (incorrectly) that way until 10 years AFTER the US Constitution.
We also know the legislatures used “natural born citizen” and “natural born subject” interchangeably at the time of the Constitution, and NBS had an established legal meaning. SO why do you insist it came from someone who did not write about “natural born citizens”?

There is nothing in the Constitution or any statute that requires two citizen parents for a child to be a natural born citizen.
Cruz is NOT a natural born citizen and is therefore not eligible and neither is Rubio....according to the Constitution.

Based on the Minor Case and Congressional Statutes, no. But that doesn’t eliminate other categories that would qualify as well.

To keep Parliament and the rest of Europe’s political turmoil out of the new country’s top leadership so that the new American culture could be developed and assimiliated. However, what I find puzzling is the 14 year residency requirement, which seems way too low, but appears the Founders did not frown upon American citizens living abroad.
Think of this. If 2 American Citizens had a child in Virginia on American soil in 1800 and decided to move to France immediately after the child’s birth without renouncing their US Citizenship, and the child was raised their entire life in France and the culture and spoke fluent French, but in 1821 they decide to leave France to come back to America (Louisiana) where the 21 year old gets a job, eventually runs for Congress, takes a position in the Jackson Administration and then decide to run for President in 1836 after meeting the 14 year residency requirement, would you have a problem with this? If the child is more inclined to French customs and courtesies (as evidenced by moving to LA) do you think loyalty to the US might be an issue even though they meet all the requirements?
Cruz was a Citizen of the United States of America at birth.
His Mother was a United States Citizen when her Son was born, end of story.
You are either a Citizen at Birth or you are a Naturalized Citizen. Cruz was not Naturalized.
Citizen at Birth = Natural Born Citizen. There is no Constitutional language that says otherwise.
Cite the definition of NBC provided in the US Constitution.

Two classes of citizens: those added by naturalization, and those added by birth.

I would vote for Trump if he wins the nomination. But someone who liked Obama and Hillary in 2009 is NOT much of a conservative. That, or he is stupid - which he is not.
