The mainstream media would have you believe that the millennial generation is full of liberal drones marching in lockstep with the progressive agenda. But the reality is quite different. Many millennials are left jaded by the Obama administration and recognize the failure of his economic policies.

Many are saddled with mountains of school debt, and worthless Liberal Arts degrees. Brilliant!

My son, In college, is quick to tell me “we just laugh at political correctness.”

When I ask “what is political correctness?” he is stumped. He says “you know....” and then trails off.

It only took SEVEN years for them to learn some basic facts of life. Don’t accuse these geniuses of being slow learners. It probably took them seven years to earn their four-year degrees.

Now if I could only include my own daughter in those who have had the epiphany.

My son - 31 years old - gets it. He’s always been a strong conservative. DIL, who is 27, voted for Obama the first time - she was a young, idealistic college student and wanted to be part of history. She woke up after Dear Reader’s first term and voted Republican the second time. She’s a smart girl - fool me once......you know the rest!

They never had me from the start. I knew in 2008 that I was about to lose up to 8 years of my life with the kind of bs that’s “the new normal”.

Let the debt bubble pop so everyone can actually start over and get back to living their lives.

We have a nephew in his 20s A rabid 0 supporter. His parents are liberals who “just don’t care” about the direction in which our country is headed. We’ve not spoken to the entire family in 8-9 years and now often wonder how that 20-something (now a new father) feels about voting for the 0-bomber and giving this socialist the ‘reign’ of our country. BTW - this election was perhaps the first Presidential in which he voted. Bad start in discerning character. Live and learn...or not. We would like to believe the lad learned a lesson, but fearful he has not. Nor, sadly, have his parents learned from the mistakes.... deep, deep sigh.

My son is with me currently in Sierra Leone.

One day while driving, he stated that he really wanted to meet someone in the U.S. who claimed to be poor. He wanted to be able to tell them exactly what poor was and how they were not.

Travel is so mind expanding.

Anyone who can escape from higher education with the ability to still be able to think for themselves will turn against ‘RATS like Obama and Clinton. You have to turn away from the communists’ rainbows and unicorn and face reality.

Only took 7 years...there was no substance to this poseur’s life aside from get a law degree from Harvard, teach part time at a renowned university in Chicago, spend most time involved in community organizing and politics, get elected to public office and immediately move on to the next political office without achieving any legislative achievements of any significance for his constituents. And the media bought into his phony life narrative as someone who could restore humanity to our politics and bring our country and world together in harmony.

Yeah, vote for an empty suit and all you get left with is the laundry bill.

I had the same experience in my early 20s in rural China. People living in one-room mud huts, mud floor, thatched roof, no running water, no windows. Community honey-pots for relieving oneself. It was like going back two thousand years. After seven months there, I came back to the US and swore to myself I’d never complain about anything ever again.

Good for you taking your son with you.

Where’s my free college?
Where’s my free healthcare?
Where’s my free public WiFi with unlimited download speeds?
Why are the oceans still rising?
Where is the damned Utopia you promised?

My 30 year old single daughter an Obama voter, quit her 6 figure job, to back pack SE Asia for 6 months. She is 2 months into it, we had a telephone conversation the other day, from Cambodia.

We talked about a statement I had read recently from an ex pat living abroad, "One of the best things about living abroad is I have learned the joy of imperfection, here unlike the states I get to take care of myself, I get to step over a hole without needing barriers to stop me, protect me. I have learned to adjust, whereas in the states I would just sit around and complain."

She got so excited with that statement and exclaimed, "we talk about that all the time here. Families with two or three kids all pile on a motorbike together, no helmets. And they are very happy and friendly." I think she is learning there are unintended consequences to the nanny state and she does not want any more of it.
