It depends, was there a single one-time inflation, or is it a string theory multiverse where every action, every atom’s action splits into another universe into infinity happens.

The problem like evolution which is a proven science, is where does a creator fit in. If there’s infinite universes of every option, he can sit back and watch. He can watch just this one mostly dead universe and perhaps interests suddenly a couple thousand years ago to intervene some.
In the end, when more physics comes into it, it’s a bigger and bigger ‘who knows’. We could very well just be a natural cause and nothing’s there before you were born or after you die.
