It is for consumption and general population growth for population’s sake; the US is competing with two Asian giants of over a billion people each, and much of our economic collapse has been brought about by those former clients now manufacturing their own goods (for themselves and us). 70 years ago we were the sole (or best) supplier of many of those goods. What we call “treason” is just “business” to our elites; nations, heritage, and culture mean nothing to them.

Shrinking or even static populations don’t work when pyramid schemes like Social Security and delaying debt payments “to our grandchildren” if there won’t be any grandchildren - a reality faced by an increasing number of Americans with each passing day.

I think a much worse issue is the fact that many Americans today, like Europeans 50 years ago, are foregoing children; this immediately trickles down ...

I think you are right.

Sales at general merchandise stores sank 1%, with that news coming as Wal-Mart (NYSE:WMT) said Friday that it would close 154 U.S. locations...

They are closing a Big One in Las Vegas, that was in a high-traffic area. We used to use it as a pit stop on the way to Kingman and noticed it was 90%+ obama's sons - as with the staff.

I only mention this as we saw a Big K-mart in a high-traffic area in Macon, GA close down some years ago. It had the same clientele. They said it was economics but the locals said it was bleeding due to the prevalent "five-finger discount" or the clerks giving the Brothers a free pass at checkout.

I suspect that is the real reason at this store and perhaps others. White or black areas, their security is non-existent and low-grade shoplifting appeared to be a cost-of-doing-business attitude when I worked there. When it gets out of hand, I suspect they just shut the place down.

Another couple hundred a month (or more) in insurance expense is enough to curtail most discretionary spending for many. That’s why gas falling below $2.00 a gallon didn’t help consumer spending, it was already spent elsewhere.

I think TAXPAYERS should get a nice fat rebate...now....taxpayers only....no more freebies for the people that do not pay any federal income tax...
