âItâs just classless,â said a former senior adviser to McCain of the endorsement, predicting it would backfire. âItâs undermining to a key Trump message which is one of competency. What Trump has said is that heâs going to hire the very best people and bring in men of Carl Icahnâs ilk ⦠and heâs appearing with someone whoâs viewed as one of Americaâs most astounding morons.â
Palinâs endorsement of Trump follows a public dispute between the New York real estate tycoon and the Arizona senator who accused Trump of âfiring up the craziesâ after Trump held a campaign rally in Phoenix with supporters who comprise McCainâs own constituents. Trump fired back by dismissing McCainâs status as a war hero and calling out McCainâs disparagement of thousands of Arizonans as âcrazies.â
Palin electrified the GOP base after being tapped as McCainâs running mate in 2008. As shown in the documentary âThe Undefeatedâ by Breitbart News Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon, Palinâs addition to the McCain ticket gave the lackluster McCain campaign their only lead in the polls against Barack Obama until the financial crisis conclusively brought any hope of a GOP victory to an end. McCainâs decision to âsuspendâ his campaign following the financial meltdown sent his poll numbers into a nosedive that he never recovered from.

Let the fun begin, rino nitwit.
OK, let’s just say solely for the sake of argument that Sarah Palin is a moron.
What does that say about McCain and his staff that they’d actually pick a moron to join them on the ticket back in ‘08?
Not much.
McCain was the first time in my life I did not pull the lever for the Republican after I had vowed to no longer hold my nose and vote.
They would have said the same thing if she endorsed the junior senator
GOPe flack against Palin for her Trump endorsement shows that she’s over the target.
Yet a moron your boss had to have in 08 in order to get many votes.
I’m not happy that she endorsed Trump instead of Cruz, but I understand it.
Nothing that comes out of McCain’s mouth, or any of the losers associated with him, has any validity whatever. If McCain and his toadies are bad-mouthing you, thats a badge of honor.
Trump, Palin, Cruz all have something in common which is they all have the right enemies.
Moron? I would like to pit any “Genius” who voted for Obama against Palin, let see those IQ numbers.
Joy!
The “True Conservatives” on FR and the McCain club are on the same page!
PDS back in full force I see.
Apparently the McCain staffer is a moron who forgot the billionaire Trump endorsed McCain in 2008 and said he’d make a great President
Says the top staffer to a guy that didn’t know how many houses he owned.
Steve Schmidt or Nicole Wallace?
It’s just classless for a former McCain senior adviser to blast former Alaska governor Sarah Palin’s endorsement of GOP frontrunner Donald Trump in this way. It is equally classless to tell a journalist that McCain’s vice presidential running mate is “one of America’s most astounding morons.”
While I am still a Cruz supporter and thoroughly startled that Palin endorsed Trump, I see no value for conservatism, for the Tea Party, or even for the republican party in this sort of attack. Sadly though, this is exactly what I expect from McCain’s people, even after she loyally supported McCain in 2008 and loyally supported him for re-election. I hope this ongoing low-class sleaze will motivate conservatives even more strongly to replace McCain in his next election.
Unnamed in the article, of course. More trashing of Sarah by the MSM.
Hmmm, she was the VP pick that brought life to McCain’s campaign, and as such, they - both the left and the McCainiacs, tried to destroy her.
She contradicted herself when she didn’t support Cruz for Prez.
Nice little “thanks” for helping their boss McCain get past his primary challenger last election. Looks like Palin may begin to find out the true character of some of those she supported.
You and 4 million others which gave us Obie Won Kenobe ...
