When I want to find out what the real GOPe political brainiac geniuses are thinking, I go right to Bob Dole, every time.

"If he's the nominee, we're going to have wholesale losses in Congress..."

What difference, at this point, would it make, Mr. Dole?

Beck comes out for Cruz and Bob Dull for Trump! Cruz and Trump get hammered by their supporters. Politics is what it is.

Dole is bananas! (Pardon the pun)

But I have to ask, has the establishment finally found a way to stop Trump? Could it be that throwing support behind him is it?

And Mr. Dole, seems to me that in a universe long ago and far, far away the terms Republican and Conservative were nearly interchangeable.

Yeesh. No offense to Sen. Dole, but... what’s next? A somber interview with Jimmy Carter about the grave danger of a Cruz candidacy?

they are making a historic mistake and choosing the devil they don't know over the one they do

This is exactly how Obama came to power. Hope and Change.

Dole loves Trump because he knows the establishment chose him as their nominee to run against the conservatives.

"I question his allegiance to the party," Mr. Dole said of Mr. Cruz. "I don't know how often you've heard him say the word ‘Republican' -- not very often." Instead, Mr. Cruz uses the word "conservative,"

Wow, a candidate who actually puts conservatism ahead of Republican Party hack loyalty - Cruz must be grateful for Dole's unwitting endorsement.

In 1976, Bob Dole was the Republican Vice-Presidential candidate. We lost Ohio by 9000 votes, but got slaughtered in Congress.

In 1984, Reagan won in a historic landslide. Bob Dole became majority leader of the Senate in 1985. Dole led the fight for the biggest tax increase in history in 1986, and the Republicans were slaughtered in 1986, losing the Senate.

In 1994, the Republicans in the Senate held strong against Bill and Hillary Clinton against nationalized health care, and the Republicans won a historic landslide in both the House and the Senate in 1994. Bob Dole ran for President in 1996, and completely destroyed any momentum for Republicans while getting stomped in 1996.

So why should conservatives and Republicans who want to win listen to Bob Dole for anything? Except to do the opposite, of course.

Well, mr. viagra, that shows how out of touch you are with today, I and many others detest being linked to the GOPe and I and many others prefer to be called CONSERVATIVES not republicans. The republican party of today is just democrat lite.

Holy cow! Would you guys leave poor old Bob Dole alone—he must be 190 years old now, give him a little peace and quiet.

“question his allegiance to the party”? Puke. The same party which had screwed over conservatives since before taking back Congress, during the primaries, and has doubled-down on the screwing since gaining both houses? The GOP has more nerve than an abscessed tooth to wrap their lips around the word “loyalty”.

Exactly, what has the GOP done that the ‘rats wouldn’t have? The ‘rats know it, and publicly gloat about it, the GOP must be believing their own press about conservatives being uninformed. I’ve heard Harry Reid himself express his satisfaction at gettng everything on the left’s agenda that they wanted, without even having the majority in one house of Congress.

If you believe in the big conspiracy theory...sure. I don’t. I think Jeb was the establishment guy and they fell flat on their face.

I disagree. Obama both came to power and won a second election because conservative and the base stayed home. They were sitting on their principles claiming there was no difference between Obama and McCain or Romney.
