Hottest year on record? Not in Cochise County Arizona

SIERRA VISTA — While the national media discusses recent findings deeming 2015 as the warmest year on record, in terms of global average temperatures, southeast Arizona didn’t quite follow the trend.

According to temperatures gathered at the Bisbee-Douglas International Airport, 2015 was the 23rd warmest on record in Cochise County at an average of 62.7 degrees, according to data maintained by NOAA Regional Climate Centers dating back to 1949.

“There certainly could be considerable difference between that location and another part of the county,” said Ken Drozd, warning coordination meteorologist at the National Weather Service's Tucson bureau. “Because we get most of our rain during the monsoon and the warmest time of the year, if you happen to get a pattern that has thunderstorms in your particular area for a number of days, that can affect temperatures in that area."

Not hotter anywhere, the satellites show us still the same temperature just like the last 15 years. Surface thermometers will always creep higher because they are typically placed near cities and as the cities heat island encroaches on them they will read higher. The global warming cultists know this and if this effect isn’t strong enough they just “adjust” the numbers. I’m sorry if you all ready know this, I just felt compelled to say it.

They place their instruments close to glass and concrete on purpose. Case and point it is always about 5-10 degrees cooler at my house in the country than it is 20 miles away in the glass/concrete city.

NOAA just denied the Pause. They threw out all the data that supported the Pause so as to support their Hottest Year On Record meme. So, the formerly settled science that supported the Pause is no longer science. Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia.

Responding to widespread criticism that its temperature station readings were corrupted by poor siting issues and suspect adjustments, NOAA established a network of 114 pristinely sited temperature stations spread out fairly uniformly throughout the United States.

up-to-date temperature data confirm the United States has been cooling for at least the past decade.
