I’ve never questioned Cruz’s conservatism.

I’ve long questioned his wisdom.

Rush..." I don't think you can make Ted Cruz wilt. I don't think there's any kind of heat that's going to cause him to shrink. He rises to the occasion.".....

That's right....all I've read on the man says he doesn't stagger, even if he might lead some to believe he is, it's with purpose for the bigger picture he's going to reveal. So he takes certain hits because the "timing" isn't where he wants it to be in order to drive the nail when it matters most.

Have you noticed he does pause when interrupted usually....he knows if his opponent is left to ramble on just gives him the ammunition he wants in order to make clear where his next "mark" is going to hit. Then, when he's ready to do so he does insist on finishing.

Trump is stronger than any government lawyer on immigration and much more trustworthy.

I don’t doubt his conservatism (for the most part), however, I do doubt his ability.

“Define your understanding of Conservatism. Really would like to know why you seem to spend your days supporting Cruz”

I’ll chime in.

Anecdotally, conservatives are pro-life, pro-gun, pro-liberty, pro-constitution, pro-family, pro-free-enterprise, pro-property-ownership, pro-limited-federal-government, and supporters of the principle of rule by law rather than rule by man. Cruz is all of that. He was a citizen at birth who will be recognized as being eligible to be president by the courts IF it ever comes to that.

As Rush pointed out, we KNOW how Cruz will govern - conservatively. We HOPE Trump will govern as such, if he is president.

I do doubt his conservatism a little, and I doubt his judgement more.

Clearly Ted is more outspoken on abortion than any other candidate. But did he introduce legislation to recognize that life begins at conception. No Rand Paul did that, just recently.

Ted was outspoken on traditional marriage too, but that didn’t stop him from raising money from gay New Yorkers. And that raises a red flag.

Ted’s recent dishonest attacks on Trump like the tweet saying Trump used eminent domain to bulldoze a widows house raises questions about Ted’s honesty. And dishonesty is not in my mind a conservative trait.

Some people think free trade is conservative, but I don’t. Not when it’s destroying our country’s industries. Our founding fathers put tariffs in place to help our industries and viewed it as a tax on foreigners seeking to sell into our markets.

So when Ted supported TPA and TPP, it made me realize Ted doesn’t understand the economy and is not in the same league as Trump.

When Ted supported the Corker bill, it showed a misplaced trust in Obama. And given Obama’s history that trust is not conservative.

Ted might be the second best candidate running. But he’s far from perfect, and in my mind is not ready yet.

Please read Rush’s article; it definitely praises Cruz (good) but equally praises Trump (good).

“... how will Cruz bear up under all that, with everybody in that town ganging up against him. He’ll do just fine. He’ll do the same thing Trump would do. Go right over their heads and go right to you, right to the country, get on media however which way they can and tell you what’s going on.

Because the election of either one of those two men contains a message, and that is Washington has to change. It’s got to be reduced. It’s got to be whittled down. It’s got to become less dominant and less of a factor in everybody’s day-to-day life.”

I see nothing to disagree with in the quote.

Got nothing against Cruz, just stating my concern. But yes, Trump has loads more real life experience and talents going into the job. The field of candidates we have to choose from for the task at hand is not much.

I have to go with the one with the most experience. A business man or a governor for president is far more preferable to a legislator. That’s just common sense.

However, I’m not campaigning nor donating time or money for anyone. The American people are too divided to ever fix anything. I’ll make my comments for now until spring when I can hit the golf course again and forget all this crap. :)

I’m a narcissist or a sycophant in your opinion?

I’m pretty open about my flaws and I’ve never given blind allegiance to a perceived, faultless champion, so besides a silly retort, do you have a thought process on that?

“My hasn’t Free Republic changed in the past few months. Now people are calling the number one conservative talk show host in the world this....”

Yeah. Isn’t that a sad commentary?

We have been infected with people who have rose colored glasses that cannot see their noses in front of their faces.

Back in the day, the framers knew exactly what they wanted in a President: They wanted someone born on American soil.

Think about it. This is so simple. No one was born a citizen, because the country had just been founded. It is as plain as day what they wanted the requirement to be.

Cruz is a hypocrite to call himself a strict constructionist and even hint that he might be eligible.

I hate to say it, but maybe it is his globalist philosophy that lets him try this, and still sleep at night.

Who are you cheering on? If that question is too hard, who is the subject of this article? And who was your narcissist/sycophant article directed towards?

Trump copied Ted on immigration except Trump never really changed since Trump still wants touch back amnesty which will bring in about 60 million 3rd worlders.

Lol, keep deluding yourself. It's necessary to be a Cruzerhead. Ted is nothing but one more GOPe boy who pulled a few publicity stunts to get his name out there before his presidential primary run.

Everyone knows who's set the agenda for this Republican primary and it is not Ted Cruz.
